I don't want to play it because the setting and tone completely push me away. I really enjoyed the darker tone of the SMT games; I enjoyed the lighter tone of Persona 3 where both you and other people open up to one another to make life's journey worth it. I even enjoyed Persona 4's setting, even though it was mostly otaku wish fulfillment pandering where you're the coolest guy on the planet who can do no wrong. I also enjoyed the earlier FE games before Awakening, especially PoR and RD.

This game is about a group of idols using the power of song, dance, and friendship to stop the bad guys. Like, the main character literally says "We'll show them through the power of friendship!" in one of the trailers.

And this #FE game is easy as shit, there is zero challenge to be found in it, even without grinding at all. Even the final boss is a huge pushover, only with padded HP. It looks like it is almost impossible to die, the only way to do so would be to completely ignore healing spells that fully restore your whole party.

Ok, So seriously I love quirky weeby games and I love the Persona series.
However I couldn't get into BD2 just from how altered it felt.

Unlike the GBA babies on here that only know about Mars because of Memelee, I played every FE up to Shin Monsho No Nazo, watched the OVA, read the Maki Hakoda manga, and even own some of the trading cards. I'm one of the people that hates the new direction FE went in with Awakening and predicted it as soon as I saw the kind of praise it was getting on here. I was even more disgusted when I saw people claiming without a bit of irony that there's no difference between what happens in Genealogy and what happens in #FE since "marriage = waifus" or some such nonsense. As far as I'm concerned, this censorship is nothing but pure retribution that you all deserved. (and it's totally relevant despite the score since you people wo't shut up about it as well.) But anyway, allow me to give you a bit of history on FE and explain why this game is so bad:
Nintendo made a western fantasy inspired SRPG series 25 years ago, it featured all sorts of fucked up shit like incest and indoctrination of children into the cult of nationalism, and that kind of stuff. Of course, casuals don't care about that kind of stuff (or know how to import/download fan translations) so it wasn't doing so well and only became known in the west because of Mars and Roy being in Smash Brothers since no one watched the OVA, and of course, most didn't even play the ones that did get localized. Nintendo got desperate and made a new Fire Emblem that was heavily anime inspired, so it went from being like Lodoss to being like Queen's Blade(along with being casualized in general). It was a huge hit (with casuals), but many posters here warned people that this was going to set the precedent and they were ignored due to being outnumbered by the blind. After this success, a crossover with Megami Tensei was announced, which turned out to actually be an Idolmaster game, but with some occasional sword fighting, proving the aforementioned warning posts correct. I was also disappointed by the 1987 ninja turtles cartoon trying to target a new group of kids rather than the people that got the context of what the comic book series was parodying.
