I thought the PC being a synth was an interesting thing. If you answer yes, DiMA brings up that memories can be fabricated, and as an example cites every other Synths that thinks they're human as well.

Hell, it could be very possible that your character is a synth given certain contexts in during the game (no recollection of actual memories prior to the bombs, memory diving into a synthetic brain, etc). The entire point was that Synths can't even tell if they're Synths. And the only way to discern them otherwise is to either kill them or use a pass phrase.

Mods still haven't fixed it. The DLC has been a shitshow even worse than Oblivion. This is the first Bethesda RPG where I actually regret buying the game and DLC. Normally the games are some degree of fucked up but mods fix them to the point where I have fun, but Fallout 4 has just been a constant source of disappointment. I'm considering just uninstalling before finishing Far Harbor and buying Overwatch for $40 from Battle.net, a steal at twice the price.

For me, the biggest problem has nothing to do with the story. The DLC has only a single 'set piece', by which I mean when you first show up at the island and have to defend it against an onslaught of monsters with the help of the townspeople. The entire rest of the DLC consists of visiting locations and clearing them out as per normal dungeons/locations. There is literally no climax; you make a decision, some things go boom or not at all, and people talk to you mildly differently. That's it.

Most of this is either misleading or outright false. Allen hates the Child of Atom, DiMA says that you COULD be a synth, but it's just as likely you aren't and leaves it up for you to decide. DiMA is also kind of an asshole who has blood on his hands, and lies about a whole bunch of stuff. Many "synths" in Acadia aren't actually synths, including the girl you're sent to find.
