I went hiking and got caught in a storm, ended up almost dead of hypothermia.
The ranger for the area found me, on his day off, and took me down to one of the trail stops.
Next day I find out a guy fitting my general description ends up dead in the same spot I was holding out in, died from hypothermia.
We were both 19 or so at the time.
I guess it's a stretch but that's how I remember that hike. Pretty easily could've been very different.
