Steam has a stealth game sale
What's worth getting?
Just noticed Death to spies 1 is on sale too, and that's worth it too imo.
It kinda is, reminds me allot of hitman just because of that. Can be slow paced as you wait for the best chance to take a guard without alerting the whole map. Pretty satisfying tough
Downloading right now, but will be done in 30 minutes.
But there's no any guide on Steam to make it work on Win7 and Ubisoft digital version works flawlessly on 7, so I guess it's fine.
>buy betrayer in early access because of the atmosphere and location
>its not bad but i get bored after a while
>try to come back 6 months later and they patched in giant spiders that spit poison at you
>uninstalled and never looked back
Mark of the Ninja is really good. Much recommended.
Later in the game you unlock an alternate outfit that lets you play like a true ninja. You can't carry a sword so you can't kill anyone. Playing NG+ like that was really fun.
What's your damage?
Bought Chaos Theory, Blacklist and both Death to Spies.
TPP was so disappointing it made me rebuy a game and buy a game I already pirated. At least got that money from TPP cards.
Stealth feels better than any other way pretty much. The bummer is when you have like a stealth kinda build and you hit those mission where you can't stealth. Still a great game
Don't listen to
Alpha Protocol is one of the few games where your dialogue choices actually matter, you can get totally different endings depending on what you say to people. People react differently depending on whether you always take the same approach in dialogues or not.
The missions play out differently depending on the order in which you do missions in the 3 hubs (Rome, Taipeh, Moscow).
Also, you can get raped by a MILF.
Don't do Moscow without ANY firearm skills.
Stealth + pistols is OP but imho it's fun.
The hacking minigame is pretty annoying with mouse+ keyboard but doable.
STEVEN HECK WAS RIGHT. Pic related.
Also, youtube spoiler vid coming in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUydx57te9s
I hear people say Styx is fucking great and a lot of complaints are that you actually have to platform, the game doesn't automatically do shit for you.
I think I'll get it.
I was thinking of getting this, might as well.
I only have enough shekels for one Death to Spies, which do I buy?
Also I would like recommend Mini Ninjas.
There is little to no stealth and it's an easy game made primarily for children, but the envoirnments are gorgeous, the music is nice and it's incredibly comfy.
I played it on my
phonesome time ago. At the very last level with clones and stuff, I got fps drops, and clones movement were somehow tied to frames, so my clone run too far and couldn't stop at the button.
Besides that, it was a really good game for android, but I don't know how about pc
Blacklist is good. Second best Splinter Cell. Proper stealth game, though it has 2 or 3 shooting segments. 2 of them are drone piloting and one is basically FPS tutorial for online mode.
Pirated it back when it was released, bought it right now.
It's better than MGSV in my opinion.
You can quite literally turn invisible in it. You get pretty badass.
But then there are bosses that I don't even know if you can stealth out of. But you can wreck every boss with the
it's not an enormous game, but the mechanics are so tight. you don't do an 'all le stealth run' because you get extra magic points for it, you do what you have to because it's hard as shit. all the hard decision making and dealing with uncertainty is great.
even just having a game that's difficult in non bullshit ways is really rare nowadays.
Oh shit son. I thought I'd played it through enough times to see, most stuff at least. But I don't remember the albatross call at all. That's some nice goading.
Maybe I should pick it up one more time soon.
How's "Sir you are being hunted"?
Anyone else got it?
Get both Death to Spies and Moment of Truth. There's a mod that mixes them so you get improved mechanics from MoT and non-shitty artstyle from DtS for all missions from both games.
Terrible balance and buggy, but pretty fun because the choices actually have an impact.
Turn based infiltration.
Especially with buddies.
>Mark of the Ninja
Like Shank but more awesome and with stealth.
Stylish and fun, kind of like Metal Gear Solid VR Missions but more fun.
Fun for a while, but gets samey.
>Ghost Recon Future Soldier
>Splinter Cell Blacklist
I liked it, less focus on non-lethal which suits me fine. Michael Ironside was replaced with someone totally forgettable.
>Deus Ex and Deus Ex: HR
>Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
No idea why this is in a stealth genre sale, but it's great.
Can't recommend the other ones, either because I didn't enjoy them or haven't played them.
>thread talks about mgr
>feel like playing it again
>remember the lol no colors
>remember the fucking sewer and city levels
>maybe another time
The start and finish are the only good points of the game, real shame since I love playing as the cyborg ninja.
>Metal Gear Rising
>Over 100 posts
>only one person has said thief
You all a bunch of fucking taffers.
>>312950602 here...this is my cart, and just got Betrayer through >>312953724. Any last picks before I purchase?
Yeah this is sad, Thief 1 and 2 are amazing, old /v/ would have had way more posts about it in this thread.
Alpha Protocol was pretty gud
and as mentioned Pistols are OP as shit (Chain Shot is "i win" button) and Stealth was broken because you had some passive ability that basically made an NPC forget that it just spotted you. that was jedi mind trick kinda bullshit. If you wanted a harder gameplay you could always do BALLS OF STEEL route and max out QCQ and Armor or something and just run around like Kenshiro punching niggas to death.
>Unpack a Booster
>Get a foil
Beyond Good & Evil here I cum.
You mean TPP has the same stealth mechanics as FC3 and 4.
I'm interested by
>Death to Spies 2
I'm also interested in MGRR but I don't know if it's worth the 13 bucks.
I already have
>Mark of the Ninja
>Stealth inc 2
And other stuff I'm forgetting about.
Am I missing anything interesting?
Get Deus Ex if you haven't already, MGR will likely go on sale during the next sale(it's a curayzy sort of game not a stealth one but it's good), Death to Spies seems to be good.
To be honest I've already bought DX, but it was a long-ass time ago on a website that isn't very popular using a not future-proof protection method. That's why I'm interested in buying it again, I know Steam won't go down anytime soon and it's dirt cheap right now.
Plus Revision just came out.
On another note, I've already played Death to Spies and Splinter Cell. Sorry.
Will try my hardest to make a sketch of a character that will probably look like garbage for VTMB
credit card problems yadda yadda, at least I'm trying to put up some effort
it's pretty neat to 'drive' your boat while your crew is singing something, stopping at an island, hopping off with on of the ropes, get the treasure from the island (even though you don't really need it but you're a pirate) and climbing back on. Damn good pirate feel.
But like most other open world games it falls in the trap of everything becoming stale after a while. I still finished it but the last 5 to 10 hours weren't as good as the first 20. I just wish Rogue was on sale.
no, I meant whichever character I'm tasked to draw will look like shit
Which DTS is better? And if someone says that the second one is better, do I need to have played the first one to get into the second one?
everyone is full of shit when it comes to this question.
I'm going to shill invisible inc one last time since nobody talks about it. it's a scifi turn based stealth puzzle thing about infiltrating big corporations and stealing their stuff. I guess pirate it if you don't believe me.
Only the first one. They get progressively worse from there.
People like 4 but they are idiots. Its gameplay is so casual that a fucking monkey could complete the game in a couple of hours.
At the time it was great because of how new it all was. Now that there are ten or so games with the same copy pasted shit it's not that impressive.
It's also the only one that makes you feel like an assassin.
No, not even then. The platforming is as dull as it could be, the forced side missions are boring and the assassinations themselves are often more about watching cutscenes than killing someone. Considering how good the premise is, it does an incredible job at being bland.
>Dishonored + DLC on sale practically every other week before I beat it
>Since I beat it and want to play the DLC it's never on sale
Fuck you too bethesda
3 is my personal favorite though
oh yeah, that's a thing isn't it?
>Ubisoft game requires uplay
This was old news like five years ago, how are you this behind
it isn't even bad, just annoying since it adds another second ontop of the loading time when you start it
Since when? I remember all the hype for Revelations which was shit.
Then /v/ got hyped for III. Which was shit.
Then /v/ was pessimistic about Black Flag. Which was shit aside from their love of pirate ship.
They finally got over it when Unity was broken garbage
AC only has ony good game. AC II. It fixed everything wrong with the original and it was a fun game. Everything since has been literal rehash or broken shit plagued by bugs and uPlay..
>Kind of want to buy all the $5 Assassin's Creed games.
>Already own 1, 3, Ezio trilogy, and rouge.
>Pirated 4 on release.
>Spent way to much fucking money this past month.
God damn it.
Alpha protocol and the death to spies games are worth the price.
Given the chance they do get taken down, they stay on my Steam library right?
I'm thinking of getting the Splinter Cell pack. Never really played them. How've the older games aged?
Only one I kinda remember playing was a demo a few years ago for one where the words are on the side of a building and you fight a guy in a bathroom
Yeah. But remember: Ubisoft can always update those games to require uplay. Just like Rockstar fucked up the San Andreas Steam version or plenty of other publishers patched GFWL out.
Your games aren't save from that on Steam. If you fear Uplay get them DRM-free from one of many sites. Be it GamersGate, Humble, Amazon or GOG.
afaik Pandora Tomorrow has some bugs that makes it won't work on newer system so they don't sell it anymore.
the stories in SC games are independent though so you'll be alright.
If I say so myself, BG&E. The Stean version needs a few tinkering before you can play it on widescreen though.
>tfw you already have everything you want to play
being a stealth game fan sure sucks
the first three games are GOAT
DA kinda sucks storywise but still playable
Conviction is different from previous game it's more action-y
Blacklist is like Conviction but the stealth is a whole lot better
I didn't play the pc version of double agent. So I can't speak to that aspect of it. The 360 version however was quite interesting. The balancing act of keeping the terrorists believing you're legitimate and keeping the trust of the NSA was intense. Probably the last good SC game
Time to replay AC2 and B.
Never played them on a real pc, only on a shit laptop and ps3.
Blood Dragon Replay will be fun
What should I get rid of to be below or near $20?
I'm thinking of removing Convinction, yea?
Probably the Splinter Cell games. And I think Blood Money might
I doubt this thing can run blood money. can't check the specs right now since I'm nuking its hard drive into a clean slate
it gets slowdowns on shit like pop cap's games so there's no way in hell it can handle anything past NFS2
Showing eidos you give a shit couldn't hurt. With that said, I didn't check its price yet
Paid full price for the Wii U version and had a great time. Pirate it first, get past detroit and see what you think
what's the difference in the standard and deluxe edition of SC Blacklist?
and I'm not interested in opinions of the game I want to try it myself

You need to have played a game with trading cards long enough to have exhausted the usual unlocks for it, and you need to have played something on Steam in the past week to be eligible for booster packs. You'll only get boosters for games you've exhausted the timed unlocks for.
It's iffy. The director's cut made the bosses less shit and removed the piss filter but it's slightly buggier and less optimized.
They also included the DLC as part of the main story which is nice content wise and actually lets you use then new weapon it has but it throws the pacing off.
I'd say it's worth the $5.
I played most of two before the save data corrupted, and I was there for most of my roommate's play of the original.
Did the directors cut make the original any better? I'll probably give 2 a miss for now since it requires Uplay.
I thought it just said "use steam" didnt realize this meant actually playing a game. I've had steam for 11 years and never got a drop. That seems shady or that maybe apearing offline might make you ineligible. Not in actual offline mode just not signed into my friends list. any ideas?
What about this?
It seems like it could be a cool Hitman but with Damien game.
but dishonored is a stealth game and it's even listed on the stealth game sale page
it's just not on sale
its cool, but its not really like hitman. the kills are much more like a puzzle and theres only one solution for each kill but its still pretty cool for what it is. i think they made the second game more of a sandbox but im not really sure
Can I really play this game sneaking my way through?
How is Far Cry 2? I remember playing it on Xbox but don''t remember it too much, except for the AI being stupidly accurate
You can stealth but you can't go non-lethal
-Any Splinter Cell game before Double agent
-Any Metal Gear game on Steam
-Every Thief game except for Thaif (The reboot)
-Alpha Protocol if you're into fiddly RPG mechanics
As a warning: Do not buy any ubisoft games on steam. It requires uplay which is a massive piece of shit.
Imagine having to sign into steam to launch a launcher that you have to sign into in order to launch another launcher for the game you want. That's uplay.
It's a massive piece of shit and it killed trackmania, I'll never forgive them.
Technically, but it'd be really shitty. The stealth isn't very good and the AI is wonky. Sometimes they are retarded as fuck and you can evade them by hiding poorly behind a tree. Other times you snipe someone from 4 miles away under the cover of brush and guards instantly know where you are and see you
>MGS collection will never be on steam
Also Assassins Creed Brotherhood, for some bizarre reason. The first one I understand, considering how old it is, but it's odd they use Uplay for II and Revelations but not the middle of of the Ezio trilogy.
If you like turn-based squad stealth strategy with randomized levels and items then you're going to LOVE invisible inc. Most fun with a game I've had in awhile and it really lets you scale how difficult you want the campaign to be. The campaigns are generally short (can be beaten in less than 2 hours) but there is a ton of replayability be it from the items you can get, the characters you play as, or the level designs themselves.
This is on Splinter Cell Blacklist. Does this mean I need Uplay? Or is it the in-game authentication like Bad Company 2
>As a warning: Do not buy any ubisoft games on steam. It requires uplay which is a massive piece of shit.
guess I'm not buying anything then
should I get master spy or is it not that good
thinking of getting stealth bastard and styx
Why does nobody use Enhanced Steam?
It makes life so much easier
Just watch out for this in the single/multiplayer info box on the store page.
>Paying for Bloodlines
>Eldritch is a fucking FPS dungeon crawler with 0 stealth elements, that was calling itself a Rogue-like for ages before it stoped and admitted it wasn't.
You are a massive fucking faggot.
I have over 800 games that I have collected all drops in and are eligible for booster packs. That being said, I get a new booster pack once every couple of months, maybe three or four times a year, usually for some shit game or another. I'm also a little over level 50. They're very, very rare.
Get Thief trilogy on GOG when it's on sale next month or the month after.
Drop Crysis, pirate Bloodlines, the rest should be about 6-7 euros. I'm not sure how much funny money that is in dollars, but if it's still too much, start pirating all of your games and save that shit.
It could have been better, but I mean, it's competent and it's pretty fucking high up on the list of games with goblin main characters, since we don't get a lot of those.
On that note, if you don't immediately start the game on Goblin Mode, you are an absolute pleb. I don't care if you're not experienced at stealth, you are a little fucking goblin, you aren't supposed to hold your own in a fight and you should be as good as dead if they get close enough to you to grab you.
>We want you to play as a thief, but we don't want to force you to play as a thief"
This is what really gets me.
Who gets a game called "Thief" but doesn't want to play as a thief?
Somebody who heard it was a really good game and was surrounded by people saying shit like "why aren't you playing thief?" and "10/10 absolutely a must play". You and the "professional" reviewers are practically begging casuals to get their shit into everything.
You ever notice how most religions, especially the more culty ones, preach eternal damnation and have Gamestop levels of desperation in bringing in new blood? While the jews just keep it to themselves, don't really seem to care one way or the other, don't send missionaries to try and convert people, and would come across as exclusionary if it wasn't for the fact that they also make no vocal effort to keep people out of their secret club?
You don't try to tell people how great something is. You also don't challenge them by mocking them for not being interested or skilled/smart enough to enjoy it. You say nothing and they'll never even put much thought into considering it.
>Farcry 4 on sale
>11 going on 12 months since it came out
>Only 33% off, down to $33.49
>For the standard edition that doesn't give you any content
>"Gold Edition" (the one that actually gets you the whole game) is only 25% off, still $59.99
>DLC full price
That's just silly.
So anyone know what the lowest Black Flag's Gold Edition has gone I really want it?
I could be remembering incorrectly but I don't recall it actually being that bad when I used it for Far Cry 3. It was just one more thing you had to have running which is kind of annoying but I don't remember having any actual technical issues or anything.
not him but the way you wrote it out made it seem like you were talking about the top two tiers. If you wanted to say bat man and asscred you could've just said that instead of writing a vague sentence.
yes im mad
>Ghost recon gets in
>no Rainbow Six
I just want to buy 3 for all my friends already steam
>played chaos theory as a kid
>get an urge to buy the game, even though I should be pirating it because it's singleplayer
>will probably not be into it any more because bored of video games
is it as good as I remembered
>only 31 results
What the fuck, guys?
Its sorta good but extremely tedious in many ways. The grind for cash to buy shit, and the fucking respawning outposts.
Still better than the washed down casual shit FC3 and 4 ended up being
>bought vampire bloodlines 2 days ago
>now it's on sale for 5
>already put too much time into it to ask for a refund
>While the jews just keep it to themselves, don't really seem to care one way or the other, don't send missionaries to try and convert people, and would come across as exclusionary if it wasn't for the fact that they also make no vocal effort to keep people out of their secret club?
except they generally don't want you in their secret club unless you can offer them something like tons of money or societal standing. they constantly worry about their kids marrying out and force gentile spouses to convert. Hell, some jews are so exclusionary that they don't consider other jews to be true jews. and don't get me started on the fact that many israeli jews don't even bother to hide the fact that they believe that gentiles only purpose is to serve them.
but back to games, so some fan bases are overzealous bordering on obnoxious, so what? games like Thief actually do deserve the praise.
