He does great no-fur work, too, which is why I pay the guy. Now, this has probably made you skeptical, but I assure you, I've gotten off harder to these commissions of mine (specifically the Rabi Ribi one) from this writer than any other single piece of porn I've ever seen or read in my life, so you'll just have to wait and see. Yeah, probably something about the fetish you just don't get, because I quite like it. There's some degree of quantitative satisfaction I get from it, because I'm so used to visualizing this kind of thing with the help of concrete numbers.

And, if we're honest, the requirements to fully set up an in-canon believable scenario and get every character down 100% include a vastly bloated story length, so cutting a few corners to make it like an OVA where the creator knows the audience is only watching it for literally one thing is okay in my book. I will say that the fact that they're huge is made much more use of than in the first one, so that's a plus. Awkward to realize what you're doing while towering above everyday citizens that happen to be watching. Ramped up the sizes a bit too quickly compared to when the true comparisons of scale started rolling in, though that might just be me. Did feel like a good and ridiculous way to end it, just that the slow buildup beforehand makes for some strange pacing.

Neptune and Noire's interactions were cute, and I can't say no to Big Nep getting some more use out of the Nep-Note (though surprisingly not the way one would expect in a size story). The smut levels were hilariously high, even moreso than in the previous story. Guess priorities are fairly obvious there. Amusing to have Big Nep in an inciter sort of role and sitting back to watch what she's caused unfold. Cat Noire gave me a good laugh. I'd say I liked it better than the first.

RB2. Don't believe anyone telling you RB1. The game's kinda crap (in comparison to the other Nep games) and the entire canon of that game is completely unconnected from the rest of the series. The real canon is established with RB2 onwards.

RB1 is interesting on its own, of course, but it's just not a place that potential fans should get into the series. There are several QoL features that weren't in that game, like the ability to have 4 party members and the like.

If you want, I'd recommend RB1 after you've played at least two other Nep games so that you don't get highly confused like I did when I first started.

Besides the number of party members, RB1 and RB2 are literally identical in terms of battle system and UI. RB2 does get Symbol Attack Gains 2/3 through the game but that just means playing RB1 after will feel like a step backwards.

Despite the "canon" status of the post-RB1 games (which hardly matters when the games after RB2 spend so much time in alternate dimensions where Neptune and sometimes Nepgear are the only holdovers), RB1 is still designed as an entry point. The goddesses don't really know each other so you learn about each one and their nation in turn. In RB2 they start out as friends so despite taking place in an alternate continuity it feels like a continuation of the characterization of RB1.

Also RB1 is arguably the gayest entry in the series so from a /u/ standpoint it's worth playing for that alone.

No, R;B1 is just bad. You'd never know if you were introduced to the series with it but anyone who's played the original trilogy should know how big of a disappointment it is.

As far as entry points go I'd say starting people off with mk2/R;B2 is perfectly fine. You can learn the primary goddesses' characters easily off of the Chirper events alone, and the tone of the plot won't throw someone off if R;B1 hasn't been there to set weird expectations the rest of the mainline series doesn't really keep up and never has.

I did start the series with HDN and RB1 was far superior in writing and characterization. Sure HDN had it's good parts (like the goddess blogs) but why would I play the game in which everyone actively hates each other when there is the remake where they become friends much quicker. I for one enjoy the later scenario a lot more, knowing the personalities of the goddesses it doesn't even make sense anymore that they would go against each other for so long before finally coming to an understanding.
Then there is HDNs abysmal battle system which consisted of spamming Neptune Breaker non stop.

Also it doesn't matter if you started with HDN or RB1, since both don't share a universe with the rest of the franchise and that doesn't matter either because the only real difference is that the goddesses aren't sisters anymore and the planet looks differently. For that matter I also enjoyed the floating landmasses more.

I think you just don't like RB1 for your own reasons but that doesn't make it a bad starting point.

This. I watched the anime first, so was used to the original voices and played the games in Japanese audio. Then U came, and I had to switch to English for the Lily Rank dialogs. It was so awful I couldn't get through more than a handful before giving up. Flat acting, bland voices that don't fit the characters, glaring lack of emotion or investment in the roles. I can't imagine how much less engaging it would be to play an entire game listening to that, nor would I ever want to.
