Thread for Mass Effect and Andromeda
For general discussions about the game and non-lesbian romances, please search /meg/ in >>>vg
Story is fuck, lore is beyond fuck, everything we've been shown so far is fuck. Why even bother?
>>2290519
>Story is fuck
The story in Adromeda is really cool, that's like the one thing they got right.
>>2290519
Because blue alien space babeswith horrible faces
Best girl incoming.Thank fuck for that, Peepoo Beboo annoys the fuck of me. It's like they took the worst of Sera and made her additionally smug.
>>2290520
>The story in Adromeda is really cool,
No, the premise is. The story itself - so far as we know - is nothing special (that horrible "antagonist"..good god), but much more importantly its execution is full on retarded.
>>2290523
The character interaction might be pretty good though, that's usually what sells a game like this, because even Mass Effect 1 was nothing to write home about and followed the same routine that KoTOR and Jade Empire introduced.
>>2290523
Oh okay, yes that is true.
>>2290523
Complaining about shitty execution in a Bioware game is a few years too late, man.
>>2290522
Nice horse face.
>>2290522
I hope the datamine is legit.
>>2290559
Birdface*
>>2290590
I saw some screens of the datamine. Looked legit.
I'll buy this game for the combat, but there's also the potential for decent lesbian waifus, and that's a solid plus.
Will probably just play the game for a romping great space adventure and take an oath of celibacy. Romance in Mass Effect (and Bioware games in general) has always been pretty shit.
Also tfw Kemono Friends has better facial animation than Mass Effect Andromeda
>>2290777
You read that on twitter
>>2290782
Touchy.
When given the options between a slug woman, blue Shrek, and a bird lizard, I think I'm better off keeping my Ryder's pants on
>>2290772
You really didn't enjoy Liara or Leiliana romances?
>>2290795
>slug woman
Jaal is a man
>>2290797
Not that anon, but both these romances are pretty vanilla, and Leliana's one also goes full cheese at moments.
>>2290797
Liara's might've been slightly better if they didn't proceed to fuck over long term players in 3.
>>2290801
huh?
>>2290844
You romance Liara in ME1, romance her again in ME2 Lair of the Shadow Broker by saying you want kids with her. Then in ME3 she calls you to her in the Citadel telling you she wants to be more than friends. That really pissed me off.
>>2290849
Even before the citadel dlc, it was a case of "herp derp romance her again despite your track record". Which I believe they claimed was a bug at the time or something involving a LotSB completed file not being picked up by ME3. Point is >>2290844, ME3 was kind of a big fuck you to those that had continually romanced Liara from 1 with how it handled a the transfer.
>>2290855
That's pretty minor though and in the end the romance is still pretty good.Though lets not kid ourselves that if Tali would have been a /u/ option everyone would have romanced her.
>>2290856
I wouldn't. All that bacteria talk disgusted me to no end.
>>2290856
>pretty minor
That's up for debate when they were trying to tout romance as a factor/selling point via word of mouth. Also Tali? Meh, she's okay definitely not enough to get me going. Now Chakwas on the other hand.I would've bought a super special limited edition if I could romance Chakwas.
>>2290782
Please no.
I don't want a world where Bioware gets to write off its lazy hackjob animations with the same "oh, but it wouldn't be a Bioware game without them!" loveable scamp routine as Bethesda gets away with for its technical shitpiles.
>>2290855
It's more like the one fully satisfying romance in the game given Liara's significant presence in all the games, her importance to the plot and the depth of her bond with Shepard.
>>2290867
I know I'm just asking for shit now butI thought Garrus' was also pretty satisfyingwhen I did my third playthrough.
>>2290890
Post some lesbians
>>2290890
>diversity and SJW values
yeah it's not like the first game in the series had humans of all colors and alien races galore hmmmm.
>>2290890
How did diversity and sjw values kill this game exactly?
A lack of exploration and poor writing in favor of being a generic fps killed ME3.
Hell I'd even argue that the individual story arcs in 3 are good up until you get to their respective conclusions Legion needing to die to complete their Jesus metaphor being the worst example.
To say nothing of the ending.
Throwing around buzzwords like sjw just well I know it's the "thing" this decade but it reminds me of how middle schoolers act.
Also I hate what they did with Liara's ruthlessness Traynor best waifu.
>>2290914
>How did diversity and sjw values kill this game exactly?
it's just a tard spouting buzzwords. ME is about getting along with alien races, for gods sakes, and the human cast was ridiculously diverse as well.
>>2290914
I thought the lack of exploration suited the game just fine. You're racing against time to save the universe; you don't have time to go look for someone's space cat or whatever.
>>2290856
Tali is a shit waifu. I'm glad she's straight.
>>2290921
A broader implementation of exploration would still be viable.
Branching paths, tasks to complete in "small sandbox" worlds with a center like hub. All my personal problems with Rise of the Tomb Raider they did a decent job at the "small sandbox" in between the set pieces.
The DLC for Leviathan stepped into this briefly or had shades of it but didn't take full advantage of it.
Some hot game play:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMswxmA4IbU
Huh weirdest shit. Some frenchies played a post-embargo copy and default Sara's face looks way different.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qG2T0FUlZU
http://www.mediafire.com/file/h48ozh22c1qe6nc/VETRA+ROMANCE+LINES+BABY.zip
Okay i can be happy now. Sara's lines are included in Vetra's porn scenes
>>2291108
Holy shit all the faces look so much better. especially around 57:00
>>2291112
/vg/ is still trying to figure out if it's a damn glitch or if the dude streaming got a legit copy, but just really early. Since he's playing the console version it shouldn't be a problem.
>>2291110
>*out of breath* See, I told you I'd show you
Hoo boy
>>2291110
wtf? it's bird porn
>>2291116
>yfw lesbian grasshopper bird tribadism
>>2291116
Please tell me there will be human or Asari lesbian options.
>>2291129
So like 50+ for Sara or are they intermixed?
>>2291129
>well more like missing some of her sex noises
Maybe they chickened out on turian scissoring
>>2291130
It's usually
>Scott file
>Sara file
>Vetra file
in that order. At around 82 or so the anon that extracted the files had some data corruption and thus Sara is missing there.
>>2291132
Nah, the leaker said the current extraction method isn't perfect and a lot of files come out corrupt actually.
>>2290873
Garrus is a good friend and a remarkable drinking buddy. Honestly, him and Liaraand Wrex to an extentbeing featured in all three games was really nice. ME2 tried to throw a whole bunch of new characters at you, but none really stuck with me as much as that initial team.
>>2291110
>part_0085
>intense_high-octane_weightlifting.mp3
SOMEBODY
Sorry, couldn't resist.
>>2291298
Unless everything we've been seeing is somehow from an e3 copy or something that isn't the final product, not that appealing look-wise. Personality-wise, I don't think much has been revealed outside of her being a geologist I believe and just being a science member.
>>2291300
So wait if the lesbian romances are going to suck why are we excited about this game?
Also maybe it's just me but I don't find Krogen or Turians appealing so that isn't an option.
>>2290590
I like how Sara is still fully armored and the alien sluts just throw themselves at her.
>>2291315
>going to suck
Most everything based on it, outside of the datamine which people care more about Vetra and the jellyfish than Suvi and PBnJ, is from pictures and videos. The sandwich's romance seems set to be mildly disappointing but she's not the definitive one despite BWA trying to make it the next Liara one for nostalgia points. With how Suvi is and possible similarities to Traynor, Suvi will probably be the definitive one with Vetra as the second one. Suffering through Jelly 'n' Peanutbutter's romance will be an achievement like going through Sera'sMost everything will initially come from tumbleh and then eventually anons will wander into it and see how mediocre to bad it is.
Out of the three, Suvi has the least exposure romantically so the actual romance might be a surprise.
>>2291318
Well Suvi actually looks cute so there's that. I guess what and see and while I'll actually defend Tumblr despite its inherent flaws they only seem to care about the bird at the moment.
Garrus was a great friend but I don't see the sexual appeal. And from what I read of Suvi she sounds quirky but philosophical, I can dig it.
>>2291326
That's fair and I do hope Suvi's romance is actually good because I'm tempted to try it. However, I have this half thought up theory to explain tumbles' oddly fervent attraction to the bird.Cassandra. Well mostly the archetype or as close to it as BWA made Vetra. Vetra probably won't be as professional/job focused as Cassandra but she comes close enough that for right now, without actual access to the game, it allows people to imagine and fill in gaps. At least until release/they devour the vetra datamines and begin to notice the differences between the one they thought up and the one in game. One could argue it might even stem from Aveline, at least in weird tangential personalities. At least in regards to tumbleh as a whole. Individually reasons will vary with some probably hoping she's like Garrus in terms of romance and what not, which is another likely factor to explain the attention on her.Another comparison that might fit is Suvi being the "Josephine" romance, but considering the potential parallels it's unlikely considering the gay romance is also a non-combatant crew member. Although I'd wage Cora's going to be more of a Cassandra romance expy than Vetra.
>>2291110
Well alrighty then.
>>2290983
Jesus that running animation. I'm fucking dead.
>>2291287
Honestly I think that Mordin was a really good addition and I liked Jack for the most part
>>2291108
WHAT THE FUCK!
Why do the frenchies get a new mass effect that doesn't look like shit?
>>2291769
We don't know. Lots of people say it's a bug. But a bug that fixes Sara's face and some other stuff at the same time is kind of a stretch.
>>2291776
Who's saying it's a bug?
>>2291777
People on /vg/, but it's weird that the first stream after the embargo is lifted has that.
I'm actually kinda tempted to buy it to lez out with space-babes after I saw it was a lot cheaper than I expected. The only AAA game I've bought not on sale in the past like 4 years is DS3 and it cost a full ~50% more for some reason. But then checking google for currency conversion ME:A is still $59 so I guess FROM was running quite the scam, sadly I'm a slave for Souls gameplay and can but pay up. Not so much for Mass Effect, so I'll probably pass anyway.
>>2291819
Just get the first 3 Mass Effect games if that's all you want. Getting the first 3 is probably cheaper than getting Andromeda anyways.
I wouldn't get Andromeda until the price goes down and they fix their shitty animationor just give us the French version where all that shit is already fixed.
Plus, Liara is a CUTE.
A CUTE!
Mass Effect 1 you have Liara as a pseudo /u/ option
The second game only Kelly Chambers.
But in the third game you have Samantha Traynor and Liara.
So yeah, just get the first 3.
>>2291315
i was never drawn to mass effect or any of the bioware games, but i read fanfic for them on occasion.
i'm kind of surprised at how strong the /u/-focused following is 'cause from an outside perspective bioware /u/ content seems to be either frustrating or disappointing depending on who you ask.
>>2292012
Being overly critical of Bioware is fashionable on the Internet for some reason. In actual fact, their romances tend to be perfectly fine. We aren't talking about deathless love stories here, but it's not what I'd want from my space shooting and orc skewering games either.
Why the fuck would you put Natalie Dormer in this game and not have her be romanceable. Fucking pointless.
I unironically like the default Sara Ryder's look and look forward to playing her. Also after I capped a couple of frames from this scene and shitposted with it a bunch of times on /v/, the rest of the idiots on /v/ have been spamming it as well in their revitalized love for the same character they spent months mocking
>>2292036
are you sure it's her or just yet another down syndrome face like hers?
>>2292070
Nah m8, Natalie's got fatface in this since she voices the doctor.
>>2292043
Her eyes bother me for some reason.
>>2292043
>playing default
>>2292098
>for some reason
>>2292012
I will never not be mad that femshep can't romance Jack.
>phantom post
Great now ghosts are included with ME
>ywn cut your labes on vetra's jangly sheet metal face
>>2292043
Default Sara's grown on me. I'm gonna miss her.
>>2291875
You can also rekindle with Liara in Shadow Broker DLC if you romanced her in 1.
>>2292162
If she's a doctor, that's up in the air I believe. Only thing relating to romance about her is that she may get with the krogan.
>>2292164
She rejects you one the first flirt
>>2292176
Like I said, pointless. And instead of simply not having a romance they are extra cruel and give you the option to try and get rejected.
>>2292177
It makes sense to have flirt options for non-romanceable characters, otherwise the flirt options would just be glorified "romance available here" signs
>>2292184
There's multiple rumors of team members hooking up with each other as well. i don't like to give more fuel to the "bioware is SJW garbage" fire, but it is rather hilarious
>>2292187
What? Considering Garrus gets with Tali in 3, barring the obvious, that's not really a surprise.
>>2292184
Are you really (second-hand) complaining about npcs not turning your avatar down gently enough?
>>2292036
if they'd made her a gay romance can you imagine how many dudes would end up roleplaying a lesbian just to bone her? it would have been amazing.
>>2292022
the biggest complaint i see with the romances is stuff like >>2292103. which keeps happening in different games.
oh well, at least people write fic.
>>2292012
>bioware /u/ content seems to be either frustrating or disappointing depending on who you ask.
Depends who you ask yes.
In ME1 the lesbian content sort of lucked out with the Asari's omnisexual design, and then lucked out again when Liara avoided the suicide mission, making her an important character in ME3, and making her romance not only nice but spanning three games.
But if you didn't like Liara, there was little else; Kelly is a travesty and Samantha, while nice, only comes at the end of the trilogy, in a game with a very stressful atmosphere all the way.
The DA front was better but with a lot of Marmite options; Leliana could be too vanilla for some, Merril too meek for some, Isabella too promiscuous for some, Josi too bland for some...and then there's Sera which is the poster child of the Marmite character; you love her or you hate her, and there's no convincing the other side.
(Also Jade empire had an option)
However I like Bioware games despite all their flaws because they provide engaging (YMMV) experiences with potentially significant /u/ content, and they're almost the only ones that provide it.
>>2292228
Customization is indeed barebones but there's still room to make good looking characters
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgFHIR7lLC0
>>2292228
I liked how everyone, close friends and lover included, called the hero by her last name. It worked really well for my dykey buzzcut Shepard.
>>2292228
>That French stream was just a bug.
I'll be forever happy if that sticks for the life of the game.
>>2292235
jesus fucking christ
>>2292012
BioWare games tend to be disproportionately popular with the part of the fandom inclined to write fanfics, and I would guess the Western shipping fandom by extension. No other Western game franchise come close, even a behemoth like Overwatch that seems much more popular if comparing their respective presence on /u/.
>>2292239
BWA also has time on their side compared to OW
>>2292235
It's like a game script written by Tumblr shut-ins. And no one thought they should redo some of those line reads? "Ohmygoodessryderrrrr" CRINGE
>>2292244
yeah it's pretty bad. it also makes me question ryder's age, is she 16?
>>2292247
Didn't they say somewhere, she's in her early twenties? I guess to them that means she's mid-teens.
>>2292254
Isn't the Hyperion that leaves the MW, with the Nexus being built directly in Andromeda?
>>2292255
Probably. Point is they leave the Reaper way Galaxy in 2185, giving a date for their age.
>>2292244
>It's like a game script written by Tumblr shut-ins
Nah its just a Bioware romance. Its always been cringe worthy.
>>2292260
Yes. But at least VAs in the older games could properly enunciate without sounding drunk/amateurish. That helps a lot when trying to sell a poorly written script.
>>2292221
> Jade Empire had an option
And what an option. First time I ever saw /u/ content in a vidya. Seeing Silk Fox actually flustered for her feelings for a woman was pretty amazing. Jade Empire was amazing overall, it's a shame they never pulled a sequel.
> DA
Agreed with you on that, at least there was options for all tastes. But the writing went through the window in Inquisition.
But ME's romances were really bland. Liara is good but identical for both sexes, and samantha is a generic npc with 0 charisma nor relevance in the story, can't be brought in the squad.
Still.Aribeth best bioware girl.
>>2292269
As flawed as Jade Empire was, it was also a wonderfully fresh experience with the Asian setting. And those endings, too. Newer games might have more comprehensive romances and more onscreen action but somehow getting that bit of text after the ending meant so much more, especially when it could go two different ways in regards to her personality. She is still my favorite a decade later.
>>2292272
>You will never turn on your party for your mistress and kill a water god to become god empresses of a fantasy kingdom
Why even live?
>>2292235
This level of forced ""''''relatable""""" awkwardness reminds me of those horrible Amazing Spiderman movies of all things
>>2292264
I'd say that it's at least in character. Whereas Shepard was already a bad-ass veteran and Spectre prospect before ME1, Ryder is a rookie pathfinder who was thrust the responsibility due a really predictable plot twist. Her dialogue is full of awkward bearings so that would extend to the flirting..
So for anyone that is interested in Vetra, I stumbled upon a fic featuring her and femRyder. Written earlier this month surprisingly. Slight spoilers, I guess in terms of one of the alien species found within Andromeda so read at your own risk I guess.
http://archiveofourown.org/works/10317098
>>2292287
She doesn't sound that awkward with Vetra
>>2292269
>Aribeth
>best anything
Spotted a filthy paladin.Neeshka best qt thieving scum.
>>2292277
I liked the first half of the first movie
>>2292160
Yeah, but you can also romance someone else, so it's not a "main romance", just like Kelly.
>>2292458
Hahahahaha
Good joke, anon.
I'm interested in Jade Empire, but as far as I know, it has some compatibility issues, how can I play it?
>>2292466
Buy/pirate the GOG version.
>>2292466
GOG version shouldn't have any problems.
>>2292102
Okay, I guess they are flat and dead and creepy.
>>2292479
>KOTOR II
Not for the /u/ content (which there are none), but otherwise it's pretty amazing. Just get the restoration patch for it.
>>2292479
KOTOR II is more than worth it, though it really has no /u/ at all.
>>2292559
KOTOR II is really light on the romance all-around. There's a very real difference compared to the way how Bioware games handle it.
>>2292652
It does and it's not even under the radar like it was in KOTOR. Only one option though.
So FemRyder looking actually human was really a bug? Fucking serious?
It actually looked like the lighting and shaders were messed with, which is actually was makes a lot of Bethesda games look better
>>2292657
isn't it lovely? even a glitch looks better than what bioware made.
>>2292657
Quiet anon, default Sara is a cutie.
>>2292669
I didn't mind her that much, but those damn autism memes turned me of her, so I'm going custom asian qt to climb Vetra.
>>2292676
Sara looks shoddy but I doubt you'll be able to make something better in the character creator.
>>2292652
You want the uncensor mod too: http://www.nexusmods.com/jadeempire/mods/4/?
>>2292724
oh boy. pink spots on my polygons
>>2292768

>>2292103
Indeed.

>>2292854
Yeah it's okay. I'd go with a black or brown hair color though because of the flat shading/lighting. This was the case in previous ME games too. It was impossible to have a normal looking blonde hair for example.
>>2292860
Kinda like this?

Jade Empire only has the one /u/ option, but is one of Bioware's better /u/ romances.
Also, you can take that one romance down two different paths, which is nice.

>that eye shading
Are ME games moddable? This needs to be fixed.
>>2293055
>Denuvo
NOPE LOL
>>2293061

That engine switch. I bet BWA did it intentionally to fuck over modders
>>2293090
They were most likely forced to by EA.
>>2293090
Did Bioware hit your dog with a car or something?
>>2293174
I was just about to post that. So far the PeeBee scenes and the het sex for Cora are out.
If these are the controversial "Like a softcore porn" scenes, I guess I must be jaded because none of the were exciting at all. Even if the awkward animations were fixed it would barely match any actual softcore porn I've seen online.
>>2293061
You mean Frostbite. Denuvo doesn't have anything to do with the engine.
>>2293174
>>2293201
>only Peebee and Cora
FUCKING NORMIES REEEEEEEEEEE
>>2293174
At least it's finally confirmed that Asari truly have nipples.
I kind knew already, but it's a bit weird that asari are literally blue human woman with weird tentacles for hair.
>>2293321
I recall there being some weird thing where all species see asari differently.
>>2293332
Every species consider them to be "my species but with x", though I think they're undeniably way more humanoid than any of the other alien races.
>>2293332
I don't know how true is that, it seemed more as a throwaway joke than anything.
>>2293338
What are you talking about? They're literally blue turians!
>>2293362
>They're literally blue turians
Spotted the skeleton horse.
So if audio wasn't enough, some screenshots from the guide surfaced. They are of the most important thing in the game obviously.
>>2293397
I still don't understand why anyone would romance a turian, but I guess some people like dead horses.
>>2293397
>PB
>literally a fucktomodachi
Blue squids confirmed for sluts.
>>2293404
For their personality I guess?
I don't see the appeal tho.
>>2293404
Anything else you want to share since you think people care?
>>2293404
Turians are rather low on the list of "why would you want to fuck/romance this?" Even for just the ME universe.
>>2293424
I like Vetra's personality and voice, and the height difference is cute. Especially when the shorty is the one making the advances.
Also, her face not being human helps mask the poor animations since my brain doesn't expect her to move in a human way. I don't find her appearance sexually attractive but I do find her less weird to look at than most of the humans.
It's so weird to me that they can make Alec Ryder look so spectacular, in terms of how natural and non-bizarre he is, but characters like Suvi and Addison barely look human.
>>2293436
Because Addison and Suvi were apparently made with CC assets.
>>2293443
Use that brain of yours anon. It should be obvious why the video was deleted
>>2293427
I care! But at the moment my priorities are a bit skewed so that isn't saying much.
>>2293435
Same here I got nothing against em some of the most interesting characters are Turians I just don't find em attractive.
Suvi looks like the way to go, she looks like she'll be right up my alley, but I'll reserve judgment until I play the game.
Also they're not doing any of that Dragon Age Keep nonsense are they? That was probably the biggest reason I've yet to get Inquisition. Don't wanna sit through that.
>>2293448
>Dragon Age Keep
Not that I'm aware of. Suvi will most likely get the Gil treatment including fade to black and all. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if the human squadmates and asari are the only ones with the actual animated scenes knowing them.
I'd fuck a Turian
>>2293448
>Don't wanna sit through that.
I mean, you don't have to. Keep was for people who didn't have any saves from previous games.
As for Andromeda, it takes place in another galaxy, so there's no reason to import any choices.
>>2293446
Well either spoilers or because of the half-Elcor
>>2293459
Didn't they go with the Keep because the previous games had so many errors with the flags? It's not a big deal anyway. It took me like five minutes to set it up.
>>2293476
If they did, I'm not aware of it. Don't remember having any problems with any of the major flags myself, but I can see how it could've been a problem.
Regardless, you don't even need 80% of the stuff there. Just going through all the major choices takes three-five minutes tops.
>>2293476
I'm fairly sure it had something to do with preserving continuity to the new generation of consoles/generally between platforms, which is something I appreciated.
>>2293459

It was time an hour ago.
>>2293478
There were a bunch of samll problems concerning the transfer from Awakening to Dragon Age 2, but the biggest one actually concerned the transfer from Origins to Awakening. There was no way to play Awakening with an Orlesian Warden by importing an Origins save, which would have been useful in the cases wherethe Warden died killing the Archdemonfor example. Incidentally, this means that BioWare's world state is not actually achievable in-game.
>>2293801
How does that relate to /u/?
>>2293445
It's annoying how they, once again, made the exclusive gay options side characters without even bothering to give them unique face models
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twEqbZunjn8
I like the detail of Vetra flaring her mandibles. Too bad the entire game couldn't be that detailed.
>>2293902
Yeah it's cute.
>>2293824
At least they managed to make Traynor kinda cute.
Besides, I can handle Suvi as long as she keeps her scottish arse planted in that chair. Either the lighting and angle there are very flattering, or the lighting when she stands up to talk is extremely unflattering. I can't tell yet.The scene of Sara confessing to her was pretty dumb and awkward, but I guess that was the point. It would've been a really great scene with good models and animations to go with the VA, but that's asking too much, right?
I may have still enjoyed it a little.
I don't know how usual this is but the (preorder) price is already 30% off in some stores.

>>2295023
Funny that you mention that, let's just say Vetra wouldn't have been bi it would actually have been very possible to mod her for Sara because of all the sound files with Sara already being in the game. It would've been like with Thane for MaleShep and Tali for FemShep in ME2.

Any good fanfiction out there? Just finished the trilogy and I already miss everyone so much.
>>2296099
Porn or romance? I remember reading one a long, long time ago about Liara lusting hard after Femshep specifically in a physical way, as opposed to the more emotional/romantic way they're portrayed as in-game. And another where Femshep was addicted to the flavor of Liara's maidenhood.
I think I read a more dramatic, hurt-feelings one where Liara suspects Femshep is cheating on her. And one where Femshep tries to rekindle their relationship after she fucks off to dark space to dismantle the Reapers (this was written before ME3)
Man, I miss those days.
Cute
>>2296099
Most of ME fics have Shepard's first name to be some retarded snowflake name, and that just ruins it for me.
>>2293405
All the Asari I have seen look weird in Andromeda, mostly the eyes.
>>2296532
Haven't played the game yet, or looked at much gameplay footage, but from what little I've seen of PB, her face is just too human-like. Maybe that was just some weird lighting, though.
As for eyes, they seem to not have proper shading, same as human eyes.
>>2292235This is actually amazing
>>2296383
Everyone should just call her "Shepard" or the author is doing it wrong.
>>2296383
I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one with this issue. Sure, Shep is a self-insert character through and through but I don't mind any of that as long as the name is the usual one.
>>2296383
Intersting. I've actually seen quite a few where they keep her name as simply Jane
>>2293002
You say that like /u/ isn't known to gobble up even the shittiest writing as long as it's /u/.
Now that I have played Andromeda for a while, the raccoon asari and Suvi aren't as bad as I initially thought. Still don't care for skeleton though.
>>2296657
I usually just look for longer and completed fics, so maybe that's why I stumble upon these snowflake name Shepards all the time.

I do too.Maybe it's because we're looking for different ships.
I recall in ME2, I used a save editor and was able to swap from my Fem Shep to a default male to trigger the romance options, then swapped back to Fem Shep for the scenes. Kinda hilarious watching Miranda riding an expresionless Femshep.
(But Liara best waifu tho)
>>2296690
Don't really care for her looks, and personality is kinda meh too.
Spoil me nee-samas. Is Keri's romance more like a fling or is there some sort of depth to the relationship?

>>2296815
Both? Kinda from the sounds of it.She's an asari reporter on the nexus that you flirt with whenever you have an interview. Interviews are about you being pathfinding.Knowing Bioware if it's something more than a kiss it's probably fade to black
Once again Bioware fails to create any appealing female characters (excluding the protagonist)
I've got my full squad now, taking Draco and Jaal on each sortie and we're a trio of badasses.
Might have flirted with Suvi but the camera zoomed in on her face and it was like looking at the surface of the moon. Not sure if something is wrong with bump mapping or what.

Vetra: Look at me, so connected. I'm the Big Man- er, Bird Lizard on Campus
Me: Okay, bookkeeping is behind that door.
Peebee: Peebee's the name and speed's the game *sniff* gotta go fast *sniff*

You're missing out on not taking Vetra along when you run around with Drack. They got some interesting convos.

I don't understand how Bioware is putting out shittier looking games than the first Mass Effect, which was out 10 years ago. Maybe combat and planets look better, but when a game is known for conversation/characters, put some actual effort into making that incredibly important part look good.
>>2297250
The C team at bioware is incompetent as fuck it would seem.

Okay...
Is one of the animators for Uncharted seriously blaming The Witcher 3 for setting people's standards too high?
Better?
>>2297267
The faces are just messed up even without animation. Sara Ryder looks like her eyelids were taped open. I wasn't going to bring Horizon Zero Dawn up, but when you go from a game looking that good--granted with a few areas where lip synch was bad--to ME:A... Yeah. I get the explanation, and at least he didn't handwave it away.
>>2297880
>>2297883
>>2297884
Every previous ME game set standards that ME:A's facial models are unable to reach. Fuck only knows why no one checked the Montreal Studio's work in that area even if everyone else was busy with other shit.
>>2297880
You clearly want to read it in a way that lets you be the angriest, so from that perspective you are right.
If you want to know what he's actually saying, then no, your reading is bizarre. He's not in any way blaming Witcher 3 and says the team at Bioware fucked up.
>>2297940
>Sara Ryder looks like her eyelids were taped open.
Most human models have this problem because their irises are too small and there's no proper shading on the eyeballs.
There's a post, on reddit of all places, that goes in-depth about what's wrong with models, animations and the way cutscenes are set up. Pretty interesting read, and overall it seems to support his >>2297267 claim of animators either not having enough time or resources to go back and polish their work. This might indicate that at some point Andromeda was at least partially scrapped, which, if it's true, wouldn't really surprise me. A couple of years ago I saw an interview with Bioware developers talking about Andromeda as a "space western", and so far this idea of theirs didn't seem to have made it into the final product. Though I admit I only managed to play for a couple of hours before animations and the awful direction got to me.
Since it's not a problem with Frostbite, they might eventually fix it with patches, although I would imagine it'd take them a serious dip in sales to consider doing it. Neither EA nor Bioware are too keen on admitting their fuck ups.
>>2298007
The fuckup is also odd for an EA game in the sense that the devs had both time and money to complete their project. It looks like a case of seriously flawed management on Bioware's side combined with incompetence at the staff level.

http://gamingbolt.com/mass-effect-andromeda-dev-experimented-with-no-mans-sky-style-procedural-planets
Well that explains a lot. Apparently because of No Man's Sky these idiots spent a year of the development time trying to make procedurally generated planets a thing is Andromeda.
After a year they couldn't make it work and dumped the idea entirely, probably after they saw how hard No Man's Sky crashed and burned.
tl;dr
No Man's Sky managed to crash so hard it ruined Mass Effect Andromeda through collateral damage.
>>2299975
I'd rather have the handful of hand-crafted planets we got than a hundred shitty procedural ones. Well, I guess I'd rather they never bothered with the procedural ones in the first place, but whatever.
At least they made the Vetra romance lovely. I think she and Sara are really cute together.
Has anyone given Peebee a chance?
>>2299975

There's a nice followup that has a somewhat different, less awkward but still cheesy version of that when you talk to Suvi postgameKallo even pipes up again, "Do I have to be here for this?"
>>2302212
Why is Suvi even posted next to the pilot if she is the science officer? Joker never had to share the bow of the ship with anybody except the AI.
>>2302242
She does the sensors and probe launching and probably other ship operations stuff that isn't engineering (Gil) or actually flying the ship (Kallo)
She's also in charge oflooking kind of hideous and being forgettable
>>2302242
Probably because the Ai is primarily meant as a scientific/exploratory venture, and the Tempest is designed as such. Kallo flies to places, Suvi provides analysis.
She's also in charge ofbeing extremely cute despite what felt like an unfortunately content-deprived romance. Still enjoyable even with the constant attempts by the writing to shove Peewee down my throat.
>>2302292
>unfortunately content-deprived romance.
I was afraid of that. Is it so unexpected that my Sara would want a cute human girl? They didn't give me Cora at all, and I just wanted her booty.
>>2302292
I liked Peebee more than I thought I would
Still went for Suvi though
>>2302468
Honestly, I feel the same way.
>>2302335
That seems to be the trend with non-squad romances. It felt very similar to Traynor and especially Josephine. She only gets new conversation prompts after each main story mission, and if you play anything like I do by doing all the sidequests inbetween story missions, it can add up to 10-15 hours easily without a peep from her since you're not getting all the extra dialogue that you would with a squad member out on missions. For what it's worth though, once the romance gets its legs in the final third or so of the game, it's really cute and her personality really starts to shine through.

It was Ryder, yet again, spluttering about how cute Suvi is.

>>2304165
I was on the Suvi train and I still am. Somehow PB's post-loyalty scene gave me the option to have a relationship so I wanted to see if it would let me. Suvi's makeout scene was better than PB's sex scene at least.
>>2304374
But also the movie scene and the final mission scene got bugged out, so I got to see the two girls morphed into one. In the other scene Ryder just stood there for a full 30 sec with no dialogue because the game couldn't figure out which to show. My punishment.
>>2304378
Suvi is so odd during movie night though. She's sitting about as far away from you as possible while looking pretty tanked, then during the cuddling she's staring off into space all misty-eyed.She's probably just miffed that it wasn't her getting held instead of Kallo, and cuddled Ryder extra hard that night to make up for it.
