That's part of the appeal of KyoSaya doujins for me. We get to see how Sayaka might have turned out with someone to guide her and keep her suicidal heroic tendencies in check.

Well lets see... First of all, Kyoko needs structure and stability in her life. Sayaka can not offer that, but Mami can. She is the calm nurturing senpai who can set Kyoko back on the right path and keep her in line. Kyoko is good at heart, of course, but she has had a hard time and needs someone to keep her in check. Since MamiKyo is not canon (the creators dropped the ball hard on this), of course there is not much canon sources to point to in order to support their relationship. Anyone got a recommendation for a quality scanner that doesn't cut off the borders near the plastic border (like my Epson V600 does, unfortunately)? Canon, perhaps?

I have some more Madoka yuri doujinshi I want to get uploaded soon but my current methods aren't yielding particularly great results (slow workflow & quality issues). I'm working on the software half of things but I need to find out what to replace my inadequate hardware with.

I had the same problem, I simply put a ruler along the edge and then line the paper up with that on the right side, and position it halfway down the scanner lengthways. As long as one side is even the other sides tend to be pretty close as well, so it works well for me.
Using Adobe photoshop also has a rotation feature where you can literally rotate the page 0.1 degree if you want. If our ocd is as high as mine, that is.

I have attempted a workaround like that, but some problems have arisen.

I've attempted using a ruler paired with an L-square which worked okay, but I noticed that this has been creating a dark-gutter shadow near the edges of the page that are flush with the L-square. Not to mention that the ruler and the L-square tend to leave dirt/dust on the glass I have to frequently clean, costing time/sanity.

Mami is legitimately happy in the barrier and says that Charlotte/BeBe/Nagisa is a major reason for it. Nagisa fulfills Mami's need to be a motherly mentor. Nagisa is also an orphan, so it fulfills both their needs to have some one with them. Kyouko and Sayaka along with Mami and Nagisa are no longer being alone, something that was impossible under the series ending.

There's no reason to do that though. Mami had no clue who Nagisa was and Mami's life functionally returns to normal. Homura legitimately wanted the others to be happy.

Sure there is. Magical entities pose the biggest threat to her universe, and the best way to mitigate that threat is to either eliminate them or keep them content so that they are not spurred into action. Pairing them up keeps them stable, which is in accordance with Homura's best interests. I'm not denying the fact that Homura has a modicum of sympathy for them, but from a purely pragmatic standpoint, it's a sound decision.

Or maybe we can refer to maintext. Homura says them all wanting to les out and hunt nightmares is a farcical heresy until Madoka herself states she would want it. We know the problem with this. She doesn't. But she still keeps Madoka's "wish" intact. Homura even tells Sayaka she can hang out with Madoka as long as she doesn't start shit with her. Kyouko and Sayaka are together because they want to be. Mami and Nagisa are together becaus ethey want to be. It's not a nefarious scheme.
