Exactly my thoughts. I honestly do not understand the praising it gets. The only reasonable explanation is that the people who praise it as being oh so great have little knowledge of (yuri) visual novels and so they don't really have much to compare it to.

As a lesbian coming from a "prestigious all-girls catholic school", I can tell you, the pseudo-relationships formed by situational lesbianism aren't really as romantic as they are often portrayed in media. The girls form them mostly because of their sexual frustration (though most of the time they don't go beyond kissing), curiosity about the same sex, and because they want to make their friendships special, not because they caught feelings.
