On one hand I like a bit of drama, but Kase-san is acting all weird around her senpai (Inoue, the ponytail girl) and I did not like what that character said at the end "I want to run with Kase-san, the two of us alone, so go back." "Although you might be friends, are you not a burden, Yamada-san?" Or something like that, I am not a native English speaker.

Everything was so fluffy and beautiful so far. Even in the third volume there was a bit of drama, but this one is killing me. I guess I am not fond of love triangle or whatever is this.

Hi guys, just a few updates. Been super, super busy the last month. Not to mention, our only translator working on this has been too busy to translate the rest of Vol. 3, so it's kind of on hold atm. I was bored so I took Goggled Anon’s translation and the higher quality scans someone posted and tried to make them look nice together. Someone else said they might be working on this so hopefully I am not stepping on anyone’s toes. I have only done chapter 15 so far.

It has been quite a few years since I’ve done this sort of thing so hopefully it came out okay. I made some changes to the translation, but I can’t read Japanese and hopefully I did not mess up the intent of any lines too much (page 72 springs to mind. The translation doesn’t really make much sense to me so I used the context and the background image to come up with something a little more clear. Hopefully it is reasonably close to the original intent.). Let me know if I butchered anything or if I need to make any improvements.

I plan on doing 16 next, then 17, then 14. Then maybe whatever is after that.

Yeah, I figured that it was something like Yamada saying that Kase could do what she wanted, but I sort of wanted to give Yamada a bit more... desire to do more? "You can do what you want" sounds a bit too passive to me, especially since from the background it looks like she’s ready to jump in (har har), too. Even if I took some liberties glad I wasn’t too off the mark. You're right though, the "go!" was a bit droopy, so I changed it. Looks a little better.

I usually just reword things until they sound "correct" to me, even if I'm not entirely sure why they sound "correct". 'On today of all days' sounded acceptable to me so I didn't change it. To me "Why did she say that today of all days" sounds weird. You use "on" before specific days or dates or events, like "such and such happened on the fourth of July", not "such and such happened the fourth of July", so maybe I'm treating "today of all days" like a specific day or event. I'm not sure.

I would say that usually you would only use on before today/yesterday/tomorrow if you're referring to something that is specific to that time period. Like "I saw you on yesterday's news" or "You'll see math on tomorrow's test", where the time period is possessive of the subject.

Hopefully that helps, or at least doesn't make things worse.

But in the sentence in the mange, the "on" is coupled with "today". Has everyone else made the connection that Inoue is the same sempai who was a focus in the Plant appointee and Kase-san prequel chapter?

Her being possessive of Kase makes a lot of sense when viewed in context of their relationship in that chapter. Yamada was Kase's inspiration but the main focus there was her moving past the drama that the other third years created on Inuoe's behalf and the two runners becoming closer in the process.

I'm honestly impressed that this plotline has been building up for so long. I didn't realize it myself until I re-read it recently.

Hmm, when I read the line out loud I don't pause between "Frankly" and "I'm jealous", so I'm not sure the comma makes sense

We're all happy for your efforts. As far as I'm concerned, there were only two or three definite errors, the other comments were mostly suggesting and discussing small improvements.

A comma doesn't necessarily imply a pause. For example, I wouldn't pause before the "so" in your own sentence. Well, it doesn't matter; the sentence is super short, anyway. I grew up with German punctuation rules, which are much stricter than English (I suppressed the urge to point out a couple of other places that, in my perception, are in need of a comma). ( '_>')

So the word "alteration" is correct on page 4? I always was under the impression that "alteration" is used to describe something, I dunno, less mundane than changing one's college choice. I am ready to defer to you, of course, I am merely curious.

I think she's saying she'll be going to cram school in the early morning, and then from there directly to high school. So she can't walk to school together with Kase-san. This sounds like a hellish schedule, by the way.

It's probably just me, but "Frankly I'm jealous" and "Frankly, I'm jealous" read different. I read the first in a more rushed and upset tone, while the latter is a bit more measured.

Correct in a technical sense? I don't see why not. Is it the best word for the situation? Honestly I dunno. I thought about changing it to change, but Exposition-sensei used change two bubbles previously and didn't want it to be so change heavy.

Of course, we could just rewrite the whole line. "Some girl changed her mind right at the last minute!"

Oh! You are right, and that makes much more sense. I was wondering about going to school before school. It seemed too hardcore, even for Japanese cram schools.

They're talking about going home, since that's their 'thing' from before they were dating. Yamada has to take the earliest bus to make the cram school's lessons in time, thus she can't stick around to wait for Kase.
Still working on figuring the right TL for that bit, though the use of "ikenakute" seems it's less of a "don't want to" and more of a "I mustn't" or, presuming there's a double negative here, "I have to", so I'm guessing it's something like "I have to run in order to make it home"? I'm seeing if someone in the TL thread who's actually moonsavvy will respond.

This stuff is tricky without the QC Anon from Yurikuma tearing my rough TLs to pieces.

Kind of disappointed the manga never showed us what happened in Tokyo! Like did Yamada not go all the way to Tokyo with her? DId she just get on the train then turn around?
