Looking at the description the story and characters sound generic as fuck. I'm pretty sure eroge don't really sell well these days without either some kind of name recognition from writer or artist, and aside from being the Hanabira artist I don't think Peko'l is big enough to sell a game alone.

Hopefully more visual novels that try to follow the old tropes and sell themselves with moe flop while others that go more creative routes are successful. Publiahers are also going to have to start diversifying and thinking about working in a global market. Otherwise the visual novel bubble is going to burst.

There's also Mayoi Neko Overrun and his Nico Live following. He's not top tier but still relatively known by eroge artist standards. There's definitely been generic eroge that have been the best seller for a month with staff who ought to be lesser known. And some of Peko's illustrations show a level that could match them.

Koi to Koi Suru Utopia was #7 on Tech Gian's ranking for June, with 278 points.

Points aren't sales but are used as an indication of roughly how titles compare. Michael no Otome-tachi got 183 points (#10 for the month it was released), and Shirayuki no Kishi got 181 points (also #10). 1,000 points is what's seen in kind of the same light as an anime averaging 10,000 sales.

The thing about Sono Hana games is they keep selling after the first week/month of release, for example Maidens of Michael ran out of stock more than a year later, and they had to re-release it. The same happens with the short Fuguriya games, that's why they are usually making re-releases. Also they never drop in price.

Koi to Koi Suru Utopia had better pre order numbers than Sono Hana on Amazon, but after the release the numbers became shit, a lot worse than the Sono Hana games. The game also dropped in price like a week after the release and got only shit reviews, so they are probably not gonna sell too many copies anymore.

Also, they sell a bunch of Sono Hana merchandise, something that Koi to Koi Suru Utopia won't do.
