>>
>>2010225
Come to think of it, are there even any good student-teacher fics?
>>
>>2010229
No that I remember.

Regarding Wayfaring, while the chapter is good it suffers the usual problem that is too much description, and the elsanna is a subplot that moves a glacial pace, not to mention that Elsa pulled again the same thing a lot of others writers do a lot "Anna mustn't know what I really feel for her" instead of discussing with Anna what happened previous chapters.

Not to mention the OC hogs too much space, and is very much a Gary Stu by now.

Guess I'll refrain of read it until more chapters are released and there is some improvement on the elsanna subplot.

Didn't Anna and Elsa agree to openness around the Halloween chapter tho?
>>

Yes, and the whole dance debacle was because Elsa didn't open with Anna about how jealous she was of Kristoff. Even Anna admits it in front of Rapunzel previous chapter of this last one this was the problem.

Anna is willing to openess but Elsa don't. Guess old habits die hard.

Just saw Hail Caesar, and really enjoyed its fantastic kaleidoscopic synchronized swimming sequence! Much of it reminded me of snowflake shapes, which I can't find a good picture of, but here is a shot from toward the end of that scene.
>>
>>2013121
Scarlett Johansson's character (or at least her speciality) is based on Esther Williams. If synchronized underwater musical numbers is your thing, you can watch many of her scenes on YouTube.
>>
>>2013009
As far as I know Elsa has always been called Elsa or, at least, her concept character who has that hairstyle and darker backstory and character was always called Elsa.

Some of Anna's older designs are also interesting, with her being another peasant alongside Kristoff's, her being Elsa's assistant instead of her sister, of her being blonde-haired instead of redheaded. White Anna is different from blonde Anna in that white Anna is really just, well, dying Anna from the movie, so she actually exists, but it's interesting that people have latched onto her and Onion Elsa so tightly enough to draw them consistently together.

It's a bit of a pity that Elsa's older concepts are more popular than Anna's older concepts since I rather like the idea of peasant or assistant Anna. The filmmakers talked about how they wanted a reason for Anna to be so devoted to Elsa and that things just clicked when they made them sisters instead of unrelated, but I don't know. At times it seems rather astounding that such a bounding optimist could have grown up amidst a good portion of the same melancholy that her older sister felt; not so much guilt or fear but still that separation.
>>
>>2013237
There was some mention, on twitter I think, that in the earlier version Elsa would've kidnapped Anna and intentionally froze her heart to make her more sympathetic to Elsa.

That was probably some fuel to pairing to the white haired Anna with concept Elsa.
>>
>>2013237, very interesting!

Agree with you that the storyline would also have been great with Anna as a peasant.
For one thing there could have been a funny dynamic where Anna was ecstatic to be in Arendelle Castle, while Queen Elsa felt so confined there that she only could be free when leaving.
That would also have given them an especially powerful relationship dynamic, and one that would have been fairly easy to depict in a way that was suggestive of romantic love between the two without actually ending up at anything in particular.

It is also interesting to me, though, just what fertile ground the concept of these two sisters can be. Especially the fact that they started off life as loving sisters but then were separated growing up, only to reunite at the dawn of adulthood.

I mean, who by now *hasn't* seen Elsa and Anna giving each other "the look."? Anyone who has gone shopping in North America over the last couple of years has seen it. I'm sure from here we can expect a lot more of America's favorite couple sharing true love as they go through many further exciting adventures together.

It seems to me, though, that at some point this particular relationship could become formulaic and feel completely repetitive of previous work. Then I think the concepts you described could be really great to draw in.
At some point the storyline could reveal that Elsa and Anna did not in fact have the same biological parents, meaning they were not related by blood.
Discovering that, and the reason why they were both raised as sisters to each other, could lead them to have an even closer bond, as well as to have a new power relationship between them.
>>
>>2014446
Eh, I think discovering that they aren't actually sisters isn't something Disney would do. It makes their parents look like even bigger cockups for lying to their children, it means that Elsa feels even more alone, especially if she's the one who's not Arendellan (and if so, she has even MORE reason to be upset with her parents because she was not responsible for the crown but still raised with that burden). Disney has been selling so much sisterly merchandise that to pull a reverse Lucas would really hurt them in the long run.

And of course the downside to making Anna the peasant is that it sort of leans too closely to Beauty and the Beast territory, which makes things even gayer. At the time Frozen came out I don't think Disney would've done a lesbian romance, or even hinted at one.

Disney definitely did not intend for Elsanna to become a thing and it's definitely not going to become canon, ever, even if they're not blood related. They were raised to be sisters and even if they were isolated from one another it's still far too gross in the general public's mind for it to turn into anything real.

The most Elsanna shippers are going to get are scenes like Frozen Fever, where Anna and Elsa are very affectionate towards one another.
>>
>>2010375
Why not? There's already too few /u/ shits out there that gets new content.

>>
>>2011006
>I like how assertive Sasuke!Elsa is toward Elsa and how subservient she is to albino Anna.

Well, Canon Elsa is just as subservient to her Anna.
>>
>>2014843
Not really. Aside from agreeing to play with Anna (but what with her mischievous look I think Elsa wanted to be asked that) as a child, movie Elsa spends the entire time rejecting Anna's requests, be they begging or shouting at her. Frozen Fever Elsa is only finally coaxed into bed after she denies there's an issue for most of the short.

Now, Elsa was so taken aback by Anna's words at the coronation and by her presence in the ice castle that she had to run both times, but that's not the same thing as subservient. More like Anna is a sore spot for Elsa's guilt.
>>

Modern alternate universe.

Are you new to fanfics?
>>
>>2014869
Ah, well. I guess it's only a side effect of reading too much fanfic.

Though Sasuke/Oninon/Concept!Elsa and Albino Anna relationships are just fan works, so we can't really compare them to the canon versions?
>>
>>2014926
Relationships? Not entirely. As has been said earlier, concept Elsa was originally going to freeze Anna's heart, so there is a conceptual background for them interacting, and white Anna literally exists in the movie as her dying self.

But yes, any fanart and fanfics are just that.
>>
>>2014954
But that conceptual background isn't really enough to base the power dynamic between them. For all we know, concept Elsa wouldn't let herself become subservient to albino Anna.

It's an interesting idea though. And I do actually like the fan arts of concept Elsa and white Anna.

But yeah, I agree about fan arts and fanfics being just that.
>>
>>2014965
Well, what I mean is, there is a background for them having interacted at all, and that concept Elsa did so specifically to cause harm to Anna, which narrows down the options some.
>>
>>2014985
Since when has "canon" been a limitation?
>>
>>2015003
It narrows down the options for what counts as canon, which is what we're talking about regarding the conceptual background that Disney was responsible for.

The HP series is a little over a million words. Does that fic span just as many years and have just as many characters?

I can understand having fun with world building but...it's a fanfic. A lot of the world has already been built and explored already.

...uhuh. Guess you're interested in OOC, then?

Elsa is kind of technically dominant in that she delivers commands according to her station and has no problem issuing them, but her reaction to being questioned by either Hans or Anna shows that her conviction isn't very strong. And since Anna is naturally very pushy and questioning, even as a child, I don't see Elsa holding the upper hand for long, or at all.

Closest thing I could think of would be an AU where, after Elsa hurt Anna, Anna got sent away to live with relatives so she was safe and started to believe herself responsible for being rejected by her family while Elsa grew resentful and, left unchecked by Anna or even the sight of the damage she did to her, prone to wrestling her parents for more control over her life, leading the two of them on opposite paths where Anna becomes timid and tired and Elsa becomes restless, agitated, and obsessive.

>>
>>2042444
Gave Weight of Snow a try and it's already rubbing me the wrong way not even halfway through chapter 1.

The recounting of the movie events is really bland. It's trying hard to get the readers to be emotional through Elsa's PoV, but the writing itself reads like a clumsy repeat of what we already knew without adding anything new.

But boring aside, it's not exactly horrendous writing (yet?). I wouldn't have commented so soon if only it hadn't started characterizing Elsa in a way that I consider to be OOC: Elsa reminiscensed the past events, and started worrying about her "frozen future" because she considers her monarch status to be a burden. Misunderstanding Elsa's character this much always gives me a headache.

Canon Elsa is a girl who LOVES to be a reigning queen. Ever since she was little, she had sung about how she couldn't wait to be queen (exactly like little Simba can't wait to be king), and wanted Anna to be her right hand. In Frozen Icy Adventure, official character introduction page listed one of Elsa's traits to be a "natural born leader". In A Frozen Heart, Hans's monologue detailed how scared he is of Elsa because she's a very sharp politician and not one to be messed with, that's when he decided to go seducing Anna. In the Anna & Elsa book series, we learnt that apparently Elsa is more adept in sports than Anna. She beats Anna easily in obstacle course running and taught her how to train stamina. The sisters regularly compete with each other in sword fighting and archery and horseback riding. Elsa rode a horse at max speed in A Warm Welcome when she was eager to get back to the castle. In the comic book that I forgot the name of, Anna cheated in their bike racing competition by starting before signal (and Elsa prevented her by making a snowpile to obstruct Anna). Anna simply cannot win against her sister physically in a fair fight. Elsa might not be as energetic and active as her, but she obviously is the more athletic and cunning one.

(Cont.)
Elsa's struggle during the movie has a very clear and very specific reason: she doesn't want to kill innocent people by her uncontrollable superpower. She is not a fragile woman who disdain the responsibilities of royal duty. To her, that is a great occupation just like any other job, one that allows her to make her country prosper. She wants to be a Queen, she loves her birthright, but only if Anna is safe and if she's allowed to be true to her nature (a,k,a. using her power freely). Countless people magnificently ignored the obvious plot, and went ahead describing Elsa as this weakling who ran away from the throne itself. Because, hey, no good-hearted woman could possibly be ambitious, right? All girls must love to be ordinary because they can't handle politics, and only evil witches could ever want to be Queens, right?

Simba never had to endure such ridiculous misinterpretation. Because he's a guy, nobody questioned his true wish to be a king. They understand he ran away simply because he's guilty for killing his father. Whereas Elsa is a girl, people cannot comprehend that she ran away to avoid accidental murders, that she must have done it to avoid being a Queen.
>>
>>2043194
Did you actually watch the movie? Didn't see Anna riding a bike around the hall and fell downstairs? Or in Frozen Fever, Elsa skillfully rides it without falling?

Elsa is intellectually and physically superior, whereas Anna's strength is in her ability to make friends with anyone and has unflappable faith. The strength of heart, if you will. Anna is brave and tomboyish and clumsy and romantic and naive and trusting, Elsa is strong and smart and graceful and ambitious and cautious.

Your silly question just cemented my point of people unable to see Elsa for who she is, simply because she is a feminine girl. Feminine girls who love books than climbing trees must be weak as shit, feminine girls who don't want to bring destruction must never want to be a politician. Feminine girls don't snore either. Too bad, Anna told us Elsa snores, so she's not exactly the feminine woman of your dream.

You're taking this feminist stuff way too far. People characterize Elsa as "OOC" like that because most people have only ever seen just the movie, not because of some anti women predisposition. Movie Elsa doesn't show us her athleticism nor do we ever see her enthusiasm for being queen. We can only infer so much.

I sure as shit didn't know any of the stuff you just mentioned about Elsa because I don't typically follow the side books. Its actually really cool to know, but I gurantee most people don't know that Anna is actually the athletically inferior one.

Throwing buzzword around is sure a good argument. Cut that shit out.

I don't blame anyone for not knowing the side materials, but the thing is that they do NOT need to. People gloss over in-movies details in order to conjure up the image of a stereotypical wallflower Elsa, simply because she's not a butch.

Again, imagine Elsa had been a guy. Would people assume he hates his throne? That he had always needed a girl like Anna to protect him forever? Turning a blind eye to his biking skill in Frozen Fever (a contrast made specifically to show how Anna is indeed the less physically capable one despite being more boiterous)? No. Most people would fall into the correct understanding based on the facts within the movies, rather than being influenced by what feminity would entail. They would see a guy running away and be tormented because he has a golden heart, not because he's fragile and needs to be protected. They would assume after the movies, he would be like Simba, roaring proudly as a king returning to his rightful throne. They would be more ready to notice his authority: how he glared at the bishop when the latter told him to take off his gloves, effortlessly declined dance invites, talking with nobles, commandingly forbade Anna's marriage and told her to fuck off from his ice castle. Many people didn't take Elsa seriously, and interpreted those scenes as a girl trying too hard to appear strong to conceal her weakness, blatantly ignoring the fact that Elsa's struggle has nothing to do with weakness, but a desire to protect people. Just look at how many fics there are with the premise "Elsa is tired of being in charge as a Queen, so at night she becomes a submissive little girl in Mistress Anna's strong arms." Funny, since the movie made it clear that Elsa feels out of control all the time and that's what she thirsts after the most, so bending backwards just to write a submissive Elsa is just magnificent.

>headcanon
Bitch please. Nothing I said was interpretation, but simple listing of movie details that people tend like to dismiss in favour of making up headcanons. Back in the days when I pointed out the inconsistencies in their characterizations compared to canon, they would angrily defended how their opinion of manly Anna x vulnerable Elsa is the indisputable fact. Not many people remember how Anna always act the girl part when she inserted herself in the paintings' poses, wishing for a partner taller than her, or her naturally hugging Elsa's arm instead of vice versa. Anna being a clumsy, girlish, energetic tomboy never changed no matter when she's with Hans, Kristoff or Elsa, yet some people just love to butch her up, ignoring her canon traits just like how they ignored Elsa's. Note how they very selectively ignore different characteristics of each sister.

That is, of course, until Frozen Fever, the books and comics come out and I now have better evidences, evidences that shouldn't be needed if people had just not been blinded by prejudice. No, I never expected Elsa to be more athletic than Anna, however I was right in insisting Elsa being a natural leader and that wasn't her trying to be strong. That her being Anna's protector is the usual deal in their relationship. That while Elsa isn't as physical as Anna, she is in fact a playful troublemaker (see pic, Elsa also loves ice fishing while Anba watches, as well as the song We Know Better where she freeze her nanny's butt for fun, and taught Anna to cause trouble) just like how the opening scene and the ballroom scene suggested, not a boring straightlace stereotypical lady. Elsa loves to spoil, and Anna loves to be spoiled. And in all comics and official arts, Anna is always the one clinging onto Elsa's arm/resting her head on Elsa's shoulder and never the other way around, whereas if Elsa is the one doing the touching, she would wrap one arm around Anna's shoulder.

This is 4chan, autism is a must.

Also about the bikes, the first bike was invented in 1817, and the two-equal-wheeler ones had been around since at least 1819. The events of Frozen take place in 1840.

There's nothing weird about bikes in Frozen. The only historical inaccuracy I've managed to find is that the soldiers still used crossbows instead of guns considering that time period, but it can be explained that soldiers avoided using guns in winter since the muzzle would be frozen up.

>Canon Elsa is a girl who LOVES to be a reigning queen
Everything you cite comes from non-movie material or material that was cut, and many people see that as non or lesser canon (funnily enough, Simba leaps to mind: remember Kopa and then Kiara? And how about Kion now?), and you will not get them to change that opinion simply by citing more of it.

>She wants to be a Queen, she loves her birthright
Show me as much, using only elements from the movie. I will agree with you in that I don't think Elsa scorns the crown like, say, Jasmine does, but nothing about her actions within the movie strike me as someone who loves being queen. She exhibits regal behavior and she can be quite good at it, but that's different from reveling in her birthright.

>Because he's a guy
SIMBA IS A FUCKING LION. Most viewers would have absolutely NO idea what a Lion King even DOES. Of course they're not going to chew him out for abandoning his duties: what the fuck ARE his duties?

And he ran away as a CHILD. Elsa ran away when she was coronated, without any contingency plan, such that Anna running off and getting herself killed means that Hans could scoop up the throne. Does the Arendelle royal family lack for cousins or ministers or other officials who could maintain control besides a foreign national who has only just arrived? Elsa had to have known that she was a serious risk, and her failure to plan for her possible deposition indicates that she is avoidant (something that is very evident in the movie) and that is a terrible quality for a leader to have.

You are entirely right to say that anyone who thinks Elsa solely ran away due to the royal burden is wrong. However, since Elsa's problems stem from how her guilt and stress lead to anxiety which lead to her powers acting up which lead into more anxiety as she tries to repress them, etc., the stress of being queen and appearing graceful and serene absolutely adds to her burdens.
>>
>>2043203
>intellectually
I'll grant you that.

>physically
Elsa got knocked out by hitting the ground in her ice palace while Anna punched Hans so hard that he literally arced into the water. The sources that say that Elsa is the more athletic of the two are from non movie materials.

Elsa doesn't need to be physically strong to be intimidating or impressive. She's essentially a demi-goddess who can create enduring LIFE. That's insanely powerful, and arguably the most powerful character Disney has ever made. The bodyguards who went after her were right to look at her with terror in their eyes when they saw what she was capable of and willing to do. She doesn't need to be athletic to be a force to be reckoned with, and I find it strange that you're decrying her being dismissed for not having the right qualities while at the same time playing up ones we never see in the movie as some sort of positive, as though part of the reason you respect her is because you view her as strong and athletic. Plenty of other people note those traits as reasons why they admire male politicians, which doesn't put you apart from that crowd you disdain much at all.

>tomboyish
How so? How are you defining her being a tomboy within the context of the movie and ONLY the movie, unless you're citing athleticism and a tendency to wear masculine clothing and enjoy masculine pursuits, in which case your citing Elsa as the greater athlete in non movie materials and the fact that neither of them wear men's clothing doesn't put marks in Anna's favor.
>>
>>2043263
>commandingly forbade Anna's marriage
And then quailed when Anna pointed out his lack of emotional attachment, physically stepping back, literally stuttering at one point, and then all but running away and shutting the entire party down, the one semi-public celebration that has been allowed in years, all because he can't handle the hurtful but truthful words of a younger sister? A male character who ran away from a fight because of harsh words would be ridiculed just as much, if not more than, a woman who did the same.

It's not uncommon for women, or people in general, who are in positions of power, whether they enjoy it or not, to have sexually submissive sides. Look at how Anna took care of Elsa in Frozen Fever, and Elsa let her, and Anna was happy to ("Best birthday present ever." "Which one?" "Letting me take care of you."). One's sexual preferences, or how they act when alone and tired, do not in any way detract from their abilities or positions as people, and your conflating that shows how much you've put Elsa on a pedestal and demanded that she stay there because that's how you like her. Whether she likes anal or oral or BDSM or despises them all has no bearing on her ability to lead, and it's funny that you should take such umbrage to people's unwillingness to see female characters as they are while at the same time showing such intolerance to other possibilities.

>Show me as much, using only elements from the movie.
>nothing about her action strikes me as someone who revels in being a queen
-Happily ice skated with her sister as a Queen and smiling among her citizens
-Marshmallow - a manifestation of her emotion - happily put on the discarded crown and smiled like a Christmas tree
-Frozen Fever continued to show us a happy Queen
-She built herself an ice CASTLE and dressed like a ruler after exiling herself instead of living a humble life like someone who dislike being a royal
-Her desire "to test the limits and break through" incline me to think this girl is more on the ambitious side than a domestic kitten
-And most importantly, FFS, she never ever stated she hates the throne itself
You see, the burden of evidence must be on you. You're the one who need to prove that Elsa dislike being Queen (tip: you can't), not asking somebody else to prove her liking it. To make it easier to understand: it's like asking people to prove Prince Charming in Cinderella loving his birthright, because "nothing about him strikes me as someone who revels in being king."

>SIMBA IS A FUCKING LION
AND IS A FUCKING LION WHO COULDN'T WAIT TO BE KING. His duty is to protect the lion pride and the animal kingdom from evil rulers like Scar. He fucking ran away from his duty due to his guilt, even after Nala told him about the situation at home.

>terrible quality for a Queen
A magnificient assessment for somebody who didn't understand what the hell Frozen was about. I applaude you. Let me humour you: Elsa ran away because she thought for sure she had been exiled, and she was fucking sad. But she came to terms with it and decided to look on the positive side: at least she doesn't have to hide her nature anymore! Arendelle is safe from her now that she's gone, and Anna can be Queen. That is her disposition until Anna came and told her that Arendelle is not safe, and Elsa is devastated because she has no power no save her damn country.
>>

Yeah no, stop your bullshit right there. Why the fuck do you assume her gracefulness and serenity and paperwork are burdens instead of something one loves to do? Your line of deduction stemmed from a very bias opinion, one that originated from a condescending view that a woman would not like it, she would much rather cook and clean and puck up flowers instead of playing politics, right? Elsa is naturally graceful, as we can see her child self covers her mouth when she laughs, and her Snow Queen self is fabulous as fuck. Her sophistication is not a facade. A queen is a fucking occupation just like anything else, don't be stupid and think of it like a prison or something. Not for a person who never showed any sign of disliking it.

And that, my friend, is why I criticized similar bias. You went down a less logical lane of deduction, instead of thinking about it rationally. You drown yourself in a weak woman who could do nothing but cried, ignoring her ferocity and readiness to kill her enemy for self-defense. You imagined yourself a perpeptually anxious woman (who was anxious because she didn't want to kill people), that you ignore her normal brilliant, playful self who was smiling when she finally came back as a Queen.

Skadi blesses your soul.
>>
>>2043494
>Happily
You mean the artist who is pleased with her creation and is playing with her sister? There is nothing specifically queenly about it.

>Marshmallow
So Elsa never returned for her crown, then? She simply left it there.

>Frozen Fever
It showed us a happy sister.

>She built
Has she lived in any other building besides a castle or worn any garments besides royal ones? Worse still, Let it Go ends with her slamming the door to said castle after having sung about freedom. Elsa built herself another cage to hide in, and hide and run she does when Anna and others show up.

>domestic kitten
...okay? I don't disagree with that. Why are you presuming I think of her as such? I agree: I see this scene as Elsa's ambitiously artistic and creative side, and it's breathtaking, if saddened by how it's adulterated by Elsa lying to herself.

>You're the one who need to prove that Elsa dislike being Queen
No, I don't, because I never made that claim in the first place. If you had bothered to read my post you would have read the part that stated that I DON'T think Elsa hated her throne, but I do call into question the belief that she LOVED it. I think the most likely scenario is that Elsa accepts her place as queen and knows that it is her duty to be a good one. The crown is a huge responsibility, both at her age and lacking her parents as advisors and confidants and because of her own power, but I don't think she despises it. She slips into the role of queen and commander well, but it slides from her grasp at times due to her insecurities and guilt. You are presuming that a lack of love must mean hatred, and I reject that view.
>>
>>2043504
>she thought for sure she had been exiled
She's queen. No one is superior to her in her own country. No one has a right to exile her, period. This is not a legal matter. She fled because she was in terror at being caught, at throwing ice at Anna, her dear sister, whom she had hoped to keep safe and in the dark, and whom she failed, and to get said power away from harming others. She knew of her power and her tremulous grip on it, so her failure to plan for the possibility where she has another accident shows she is not forward thinking, but avoidant. And yes, this IS a terrible quality for a queen. It doesn't mean that she is not fit to be queen, but it is something she MUST work on if she remains on the throne.

As you can see, and as I have noted, I agree with you on some of your positions (yes, I am well aware that Elsa's flight and continued retreat are due, in part, to her mistaken belief that distance will save Arendelle, but again, her failure to plan for the future is still a terrible quality for a queen), and if you'd only stop and read you'd see where and why instead of flying off into your own presumptions. But you have failed to note that her flight does have elements of terror and guilt to it because you want so badly to admire her fully. You can still admire her while acknowledging weaknesses. That's what makes a character HUMAN. You seem very afraid to discuss her issues without presuming the person you're speaking to must be some slavering sexist who has it in for her. Cut that out and talk to me like a real person.
>>
>>2043486
Stop it with the strawman. Being hurt when a someone pushed the right button does not fucking indicate a person is generally a weak person. You must not have watched many theature act when a guy can be stunned, hurt, staggering back and went onto a soulful monologue after someone said the very specific thing that killed his heart. Simba fucking ran away, twice, did you ridicule him too? Elsa had silently protected Anna for 13 years, and now this girl accussed her of being cruel, of course she'd go mad. And Elsa fucking ran away to protect Arendelle from herself: she's no longer in control of her power anymore, and if everyone calls her a monster in her face, she might accidentally kill them. That's no weakness.

At no point did I say Elsa is a butch, which you strangely accussed me of. Have you hever seen a woman caring for his husband on a bedside? Have you bever seen a guy being submissive to a dominatrix? Did I ever say either of them must not do something in bed?

My posts specifically pointed out the ones that depicted Elsa/Anna in a very stereotypical male Anba/ female Elsa relationship, based on their full on retarded selective ignorance of canon, not "nuuuu why would Anna finger Elsa and not the other way around!"
>>
>>2043521
>Simba fucking ran away,
As a child. You keep forgetting that. And yes, he gets ridiculed by Rafiki (and hit) and told off by his father, and rightly so, for abandoning his people.

Where did I accuse you of saying Elsa is butch? Point it out to me.

Yes, you used the phrase "submissive little girl in Mistress Anna's strong arms". "Submissive" and "mistress" both have sexual connotations, as does "so at night". This is clearly in reference to sexual behavior, otherwise you would have not included "at night", since the relationship you dislike would bleed outside just the bedroom.

Where is the straw man in the post you quoted? Elsa's behavior at the coronation party is weak. She is right to be criticized for all but fleeing from Anna, which she does BEFORE she reveals her powers. Her removing herself as a source of danger makes sense after that, but she was leaving before she threw ice. You're the one who took "she is weak here" to mean "she is a weak person".
>>
>>2043520
I'm really fucking tired of your assumption that just because I stressed Elsa's qualities, that I must be one of those who is unable to see Elsa having vulnerability. What did you think I see in the movie then? The whole damn thing is about her struggle.

Please, for a moment, quit assuming and be objective. I started the discussion to pointed out how wrongly some (not all, thanks goidness) people had interpretted these characters, glossing over canon traits to indulge in stereotypical interpretations. My pointing out canon materials, including fucking FROZEN FEVER, are said to be not really canon? Okay then.

And once again, I must disagree on your assessment of Elsa being a terrible Queen, because she behaved reasonably within her circumstance, like a HUMAN would, not a GOD. She accidentally revealed her ice power, which she had been led to believed by the troll and her father to be a montrous thing. She rightfully assumed that if anyone see it, they'd call her a monster. Weselton confirmed her assumption because he fucking did just that. That's why she knew she could no longer stay in Arendelle anymore because 1) people will want to kill a witch and 2) she will definitely kill people in self-defense. That's why she ran away, to protect people. She threw away her throne and her sister, bevause it's unavoidable now. And it's entirely reasonable of her to assume Anna will become the next Queen. Why the fuck would she be worried about that?
>>
are said to be not really canon?
I will accept the movie and Frozen Fever as canon. For the same reason I reject Kopa as not canon and Kiara as canon, I do not see books and comics as canon. Disney has proven how well it adheres to them. At no point have I rejected any of your claims if they stem from the movie or Frozen Fever.

>be objective
I will ask the same of you. Stop it with this strange insistance that if I make a statement that Elsa is weak or wrong here or has a bad quality that she must similarly be overall terrible. Note where I agree with you and why, as well as where I disagree and why. I'm glad you dropped the accusations of sexism in this post.

Because Anna is not ready to be queen. Anyone with eyes can see that. Elsa saw for herself, up close, how immature Anna is when she demanded the right to marry Hans within the day that she met him.

Why is it godlike to plan for emergencies? That's what rulers DO. The health, safety, and security of the nation is their JOB. The line of succession in a monarchy is absolutely paramount. If Anna and Elsa are the only ones of their line, then determining who is next is line is critical. Elsa lost her parents and the throne fell to her: as queen, she is both legally and personally well aware of the fact that the throne MUST have a ruler and that accidents can and do happen. She is aware that she, herself, is a walking accident, and Anna is little more than a child and is certainly no ruler.
>>
>>2043540
Both as a child and as an adult. Fucking read the whole sentence. "Twice."

The strawman is that the poster accussed me of saying Elsa must never be weak, while my entire point was "there are too many people who depicted Anna as this stereotypically manly figure and vehemently insisted this is the most accurate depiction of their relationship." Which was meaning of the "strong arms" part. Because, hey, it's not sexy if you pair a womanly, trollish, sensible person with a girly, clumsy, romantic person.

And I had repeatedly pointed out that many actual hetero relationships has the girl being femdom, or taking care of their sick/wounded husband, or playfully bully their "whipped" husband. So believe me, I have no hard time at all imaging anyone on top, be it male or female, be it a shy or hardass person. There are, however, a big difference between writing a dominatrix Anna and a stone butch Anna. That is how OOC comes to be, not about who is fucking on top.
>>
>>2043551
Shit, what gets me is that I don't even disagree with a bunch of his views, but somehow, according to him, I'm totally at odds and a sexist and think Elsa is a terrible queen and asking her to plan for things is asking her to be godlike.

Subtleties, man. Having two reasons for doing things. Doing something out of duty with neither hatred or love attached. Somehow...just too hard to understand.
>>
>>2043551
According to you, obviously those are only my headcanon then. Even after being supported by all other side materials, okay. Go on. Tell everyone how your impeccable understanding of the movie were dismissed by Disney. How dare they betrayed you like that!
>>
>>2043556
Then drop the "twice", since he's a child when he runs away first and it's not fair to lay that at his feet. You know that a child running away and an adult running away are not comparable. And again, I just said I DO criticize Simba for running away when he is an adult.

It seems we don't disagree on matters of sexuality. I wish you had made that clearer in your first post by only and specifically sticking to relationship models instead of using what is clearly sexual imagery.

Is Anna or Elsa a better girlfriend for Rapunzel?
Hardmode: no saying "both"
>>

Idunn.
>>
>>2045041
Well, let's break it down.

Rapunzel is a very caring, strong willed, intelligent and fiercely curios and artistic young woman who has been unhappily cooped up due to emotional manipulation and fear while dreaming of freedom. She demonstrates an innate ability to command and, while paranoia from her upbringing causes her to be initially tentative with others, she quickly opens up, and perhaps too quickly and totally, leading her to harm. She loves totally and honestly. She is exuberant and optimistic and open to wonder. Her first day out in the world she experiences a rush of conflicting emotions. She possesses an incredible power in a world that seems relatively devoid of magic. When she finally overcomes her issues, she is attentive to her people's needs and comfortable with ruling.

Elsa is the pessimist to Rapunzel's optimist on account of what has happened to her and what she's done, but their qualities besides this overlap rather well. It allows them to see kindred spirits in one another besides the most obvious bond of being magically gifted among a sea of normal people and locked away as a result. Rapunzel's sunny nature and her love of caring for and healing people, regardless of whether said magical abilities exist anymore or not, would make her quickly devoted, and Elsa, in turn, would be shocked to discover not just that she's not alone, but she is understood, seen for exactly who she is, and still loved, without any fear. The Elsa that had healed well enough to skate with her sister would be coaxed, and happily so, into the light by a beaming Rapunzel, the girl who loved and listened and knew.

Anna and Rapunzel would be fast and fierce friends to match Rapunzel and Elsa's smiling, growing love, and all would be the better for it.

Yep, character concept from when she was evil, I believe there's also a short animation floating around that was scrapped when they changed course.

Looks familiar. Anna looks like a trace over old Dory's pictures, desu.
>>
Holy shit, those walls of text about fucking bikes and feminism, so fucking autistic it's amazing.

Anyhow, can anyone recommend me something that's longish and not too horribly occ? And well, generally not shit?
>>
Has anyone read A qui tu penses, Anna Andersen?
If so, how is it? Has it got any merit? I'm asking because I can't just skim through to get a feel for it as would with a random english one.

If you've read things before, there's nothing new.

Literally 1980s.

>I love you too
>I love you

>Text is read from right-to-left like in some sort of moonrune tome.

Love the art, but this triggers me to such an unreasonable degree.

A Snowball's Chance in Hell is 80k words and not too shit, but I can't remember if the characterization is good. Currently I'm reading The Royal Commoner which I wouldn't recommend too highly. Care to list some of your favorite fics so we know what you've read?

They will never make her a lesbian, because it would basically admit to everyone that she was lusting for her very hetero sister.
>>
>>2057882
Literally what?
>>
>>2057926
Anon is implying that confirming lesbianism when true love is already a major aspect between two sisters would make even the sraightest soccermoms bridge the gap and reach a conclusion regardless of true intentions on behalf of the authors.
>>

>make even the straightest soccermoms bridge the gap
Well, shame on them and their dirty minds.

For fuck's sake what is this cancer, couldn't you have linked some better source, one that's not some sensational clickbait bullshit?
http://www.etonline.com/news/189295_exclusive_idina_menzel_reacts_to_frozen_2_petition_to_give_elsa_a_girlfriend/
And she just says "it's great" about the petition, not necessarily about the idea.

The worst thing about Elsa getting gayed up would be the ABCDEF+ "community" annexing it as their victory. I don't want them to have it.
>>
>>2053731
>not 1840s
Thanks though anon, mind if I save it?

>>2058200
Yep. If Elsa is canon gay, trannies will start demanding their slice of the pie.
>>
Anyone reading this: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11649709/28/Risky-Business?
Why is Hans even there besides being a token love interest for Anna?
>inb4 b-but Anna's not gay
Yeah, well, I don't give a fuck.

That's a red flag if I ever saw one. What did you make of it, though?
>>
>>2059996
Reads OK, but all her fics are like subliminal tumblr preachings. The author holds questionable opinions that bleed through into her fics. I'm waiting for the big reveal and "deep" morals.
Wouldn't recommend unless you really don't have anything else to read.

>Gray
I've heard rumors that it's actually X-Arielle, but they're probably false.
>>
>>2060114
You're confusing your board history. X-ARielle was known for a while on /u/ as Gray, back in the board's early days like pre-2010. Gray from /frz/ largely came from the fact that they did a bunch of their first pieces in monochrome.
>>
>>2060122
Oh.
Like I said, probably false. Must have read something somewhere and gotten it wrong.
