How is it unreasonable to take issue with that? The show clearly states that both characters had horrible lives in Russia. They clearly have a much more comfortable life in America. The Russian government is ordering them to murder many people, the majority of whom are not military personnel. How is it reasonable that they continue to work for the KGB? The show itself presents almost no tangible justification, besides Elizabeth occasionally ranting vague nonsense about "the cause" and "consumerism".

Kek that part was pretty hilarious to me as well. I only started watching the show within the last 6 months or so and am already caught up. I don't really have an issue with how much they are for the cause, since that is their job after all, and I don't think they really know what Russia is actually like when this is going on.

I know it's tv so it has to have tons of action to keep the drooling masses entertained, but I more have a problem with how many super important assassin type missions they have to go on. I'm no expert on espionage but I can guarantee you even high end spies like this in real life weren't involved in 1/100th of the shit this couple gets into.
