Why didn't Pennywise biting Georgie's hand draw bl

Would have been scarier if it just pulled him down, no stupid cgi face, no dismemberment.

Seeing the dumb clown face and kid flopping around all dismember was just HILARIOUS and GOOFY instead of creepy or terrifying.

This CG doesn't even look finished. He doesn't even seem to be biting the arm.

The CG was bad, but the dismemberment was disturbing. I don't recall ever having seen that level of violence on a child in film before, transforming face was stupid. I know what bit him, I don't need to see it.

This entire scene is not only to set the setting of the movie and to form the basis for the main character attachment and commitment to the cause, but to present the character Pennywise as not just a clown, but a monster that is in fact dangerous.

This is what makes us feel tension whenever one of the actors was being attacked by it, because this scene exposed that he was a gruesome predator.

Had they made the eyes roll to the back of his head it would have looked much creepier.

I kinda wish they made Pennywise look less threatening from the get-go. Kinda like how they did it with the mini-series. Tim Curry wasn't really that scary looking, just unnervingly creepy, which makes more sense.

In this movie it didn't make sense why Georgie didn't just run away immediately after seeing that ugly shadowy face.

I also wish that they showed Pennywise's arm extending to an unnatural length as he started reaching for Georgie. Kinda a wasted opportunity.
