Ludicrously late to the game, but I just finished the first season of this. The twist got me, mostly because I'd considered it and thrown it away earlier because of how consistent Michael's portrayal of a wholesome architect was.

Is this that horrible new NBC show? I couldn't even finish the pilot. What was the twist?
Could it be she was inthe bad place?

Yeah. It's an obvious twist, and there are plenty of hints, but the number of people who had to be in on it seemed too big for me to take seriously. Turns out the entire neighborhood, except for the main four characters, are all staff

I don't know, I still think Michael actually is fond of humans. He seemed to change the subject quick during the meeting scene.

Certainly we could be setting up for a second season twist, I'm just saying his sincerity is probably the biggest factor as to why I gave up on the idea originally
This show is delightful. Really one of the only decent shows to come out from last year on the networks.
I really didn't feel the first episode, but by the last one I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed the show.
And I didn't see the twist coming (or even thought of it, desu). I'm actually worried at how the show will be this season after the reveal because I liked the first season so much.

I like that it lets us see more from Michael's pov
