Not a bad idea. I think it suffers from focusing on the kid too much, by giving the kid the focus of the story it limits how deep you can go with Arnold's character. Maybe if it got pushed to an R-rating and actually dealt with the existential themes of realizing your world is a fiction it could have worked. Also I love interest in the film by the tar scene. Just dumb.

Watched it when I was like 12, took all the satire at face value, still had a good time.

Watched it again years later, it's a great satire and still fun. One of my favorite movies.

He got literally raped by Jurassic Park, who premiered 1 week earlier than this.
