Weeell, it is called semi-docu drama. So it has to set up the story quickly in the 1st act. The better the 1st act gets, the more smooth ride the current becomes. I really liked Poulter's crupted cop, though. Just Bigelow exercised the theory on the docu-drama sooo good that a dude's effort is unnoticeable. He definitely carries whole plot. I hope he gets some sort of recognition during the award season.

Poulter and the guy who plays the Dramatics singer make the film. They could have dropped the other two cops and half the black kids and it probably would have worked better.
