Why did he argue over peanuts (~10,000 USD, (1988) ) with a guy who he knows will kill at the drop of a hat, when he had 92 times that safely stowed away?
>>87591825
He argued over the car. Not the money.
>>87591825
He was a thot.
He's clearly a dipshit judging from the whole movie.
>>87591825
People make stupid decisions for a little bit of money.

ARE WE SHQUARE

It wasn't the money. It was the car.
He's a funny lookin' guy.
HE GOT FUCKING SHOT IN THE FACE
HE'S TAKING THAT FUCKING CAR
THAT FUCKER'S HIS
>>87591825
He was greedy
He had to have the new car even though he had a case with almost a mil stashed away, AND knowing the cops would be on the lookout for the Sierra
All he could think about was what he wanted and why it was owed to him
>>87591825
>I don't want to debate you Jerry!
also, he just got shot in the mouth, so he was probably partially delirious at this point

You really don't get it at all, do you? Just because he (Carl) himself has the car front-and-center in his own mind, doesn't mean that he wasn't implicitly arguing the money at the same time. Carl is strung out so he doesn't get that The Loot = Car + money, and now that the loot has been acquired (though the job has been botched), the only thing left for the criminals to do is to split the loot evenly. What's actually being argued by both sides is The Loot, the proceeds of the job. Each side is arguing each aspect of the Loot, but since the Loot is two things put together, each side is fundamentally arguing both things, /even if one actor (Carl) is confused and frustrated and doesn't himself understand such in-the-moment/.
By walking out the door, Carl indicated that he refused to pay ~10K USD (1988) to other guy even though the solution had just been clearly explained to him. So Carl really was arguing the money side even if he himself didn't understand such - because again, both sides are concerned with The Loot. Carl's error is in thinking that the car is a distinct item from The Loot.

This. He was a greedy idiot, and Shep never vouched for him in the first place.
Weak links throughout this film breaking spectacularly.

>He argued over the car. Not the money.

Also, he solved his problems with violence and shooting anyone in his way. He didn't feel like he was in any danger from the other guy
>>87591920
You've seen all 3 seasons of Fargo, the failed pilot, and the movie huh?
>>87591825
>HECK YA MEAN
>>87592298
>He was greedy
It wasn't greed, it was principle. He got shot in the face and feels he's owed a bigger share. And he has to pretend there's no suitcase full of money hidden away so there's that.
>>87591825
Because that's what people do.
Why wouldn't he just shoot him right then and there. He already didn't like the guy and he was absolutely worthless
