Raimi actually had a vision. Maybe Burton's Batman films too, but I can't think of any others.

It was trash. Tom Holland's range of expression is kind of limited, Spider-Man was trying too hard to be funny with his constant quipping, Ned was extremely annoying, Liz was a generic love interest, the romance between her and Peter was forced, MJ was the archetypical apathetic, dead inside, trashy, rebellious chick.

The visual effects were laughable. The quips became ubearable at one point. The soundtrack was dull and uninspired.

The only redeeming quality this movie had was Michael Keaton's Vulture.

Are we living in the same timeline?

Because home-coming is a nu-marvel movie it will always lack the emotional resonance of the originals. Because if anything, they tried to be sincere, they let you dwell in the emotion instead of covering up real feelings with cynical quipping. Home-coming is just a teen comedy. It's a fun watch, but that's it. Everyone I know in real life prefers Spiderman 2. Even the youtube roasties do.

Lucky you. I know a certain someone who actually believes Homecoming is the best Spider-Man movie to date, but his taste in a lot of things is shit in general, so no surprise there.

Fuck, Spider-Man 1 and 2 are such classic movies.

The movie was heavily inspired by the Amazing Spider-Man comic series from the 60s. Series was great, so movie turned out great.
