Britbong here, just got back from a preview screening. A short review for you yanks -

A film of two halves - a vastly superior yet essentially serviceable Stand By Me/Stranger Things/Monster House half mashed with the predictably pedestrian horror sequences you all expect from a post 1990s horror shlock-fest.

Good child actors unfortunately dragged down by cliché-ridden horror tropes.

If I was 15 or if it were my first horror film I would have been shitting balls throughout - unfortunately a thinking man's horror film IT is not.
