I can't be arsed watching superhero films until years later when I feel in the mood to catch up

Lord of the Rings did it three or four times in one movie. And a few more times over the other two.

the only good final fight i can think of is the one in Predator

Because the people who are writing the fights are not fighters.

Originally there was no Ares in the film.

I feel that the final final was something the executives felt they needed to add thanks to the various group tests.
