yeah, but it had the main arc of trying to find out what was up with Senator Mora too; what made it unique was the camera work/effects, and how natural the dialog was between the characters. idk I thought it was neat

much better premise (a non-omniscient goddess) than that other show where girl talks to and gets vague instructions from omniscient god who appears to her as different people. wonderfalls girl gets info/clues from a native-american goddess who is powerful but not all-knowing so it's understandable if the info she gives is not complete and girl has to figure out the rest. but in that other show (forgot the title) supposedly all-knowing god does not tell her everything and gives her annoyingly vague info. the writers did try to wriggle out of that massive plot hole by having god overload girl with everything in the universe but that's not what girl needed. all she needed was more info about his instructions like a full name or a full address not all the names of everybody in the universe.

Most men (and some women) generally prefer sitcoms while most women (and gays) prefer Desperate Housewives or Gillmore Girls type of humor like Friends from College.

Was just frustrating teasing a second series and deliberately leaving the big central mystery unresolved.
It set up it's own world with its own rules so effectively that it's frustating getting blueballed, even if another series may been meh.

quarry was cancdeled?
>>87411975
Aw I loved season 2. The ending cliffhanger killed me.
>>87411996
Yeah, I feel that. They left the door opensorryfor sure. The world is open and could be expanded infinitely.
The nature of the event wasn't even important so I don't think it got left unresolved at all. They resolved it enough to leave it up to imagination and absolutely no more.
Really amazing writing, being able to handle those two things so flawlessly. Then you look at other stuff that's mediocre-bad and it just feels worse by comparison. Thanks for ruining me, Lost Room.
>>87411996
but they did resolve the central mystery of the room and how it got created. but the reveal was kinda meh for me.
>>87412108
yep, cinemax canceled the knick too because they are complete fucking morons. 2 best shows of the past couple years.
>>87412281
The Knick had a perfectly nice ending
>>87412360

all media execs are morons, but that's not the point
they moronified their primary demographic, so nobody watches what few shows that manage to rise above the swirling miasma of sewage that is cable TV
Freaks and Geeks
this, found it comfy as fuck, shame it never got another season
>>87411998
this &
same
>>87413410
I didn't even know they made a tv version, huh.
>>87413410
>On May 13, 2017, The CW released an epilogue to the series to provide closure after its cancellation.
I like CW, they're kind to their viewers. Their execs are the exception amongst the greedy asshole execs of other networks.
>>87413546

don't forget the pizza. if death spared chicago because of the pizza then it must be the best pizza in the universe.
If this thread were about shows cancelled after 2 seasons, I would have gone off, because that seems like where most shows I watch meet their end. That said, here's what I miss after 1 season in order of hurt to my soul:
Alcatraz
Wonderfalls
Almost Human
and The motherfucking Cape
god, I miss The Cape. I legit enjoyed that show. And now Community blew it up in to some pseudo-meme for people to make fun of, but fuck that, it was great
>>87414294
The arrow came around right after cape flopped and basically did the same shtick, too. Less Keith David.
>>87387901
Yes. Tim Minear with his knack for getting shit cancelled.
That dream sequence where her bf thinks she's talking about her boss when she's talking about a case. I so wanted to see that play out.
>>87414294
the only thing i remember from the cape is the boy's legs. those legs as the camera panned up them as boy slept with his not-ugly not-old dad in bed is forever imprinted in my mind.
>>87414098
So is Claire Danes. That's why we never got a second season.
>>87414657
>So is Claire Danes.
Yeah, I read about that later. I wonder if the writers adjusted the character to match her irl.
>>87376459
Surface was fucking rad
>>87377568
It still hurts. Every few months I check if it's going to be picked back up.
