After seeing the great ratings and slogging through the first episode of this series, it's ass. This is literally the typical liberal feminist's idea of a dystopia, nothing really original here.
The main character is a degenerate coalburner with a bad attitude, with a androgynous half daughter. She's unrelatable and 95% of the shots were showing her with the same stupid depressed face the whole time. She's probably the least interesting character introduced so far.
The pacing is terrible. This is what happens when you take a 300 page book and spread the content into a multi-season TV series. One season should have more than enough to cover the whole book. Very boring when combined with the lack of variety in shots.
I sure hope this gets better, because so far I can't tell if those who were praising this show were on drugs or just plain retarded.

I know but considering how good the scores were, I figured that this show would resonate with an audience outside of just liberal women.
