Why hollywood keeps remaking good movies when they can remake bad movies and make them good instead?
>>87190694
They tried that with Fantastic Four. Didn't work so good
>>87190694
that's honestly a really good question
dunno
>cast the brown people as white people
>cast the white people as brown people
>>87190694
Instead of a movie this should be remade into a show. Age everyone up a few years and make it more adult. All the kids who grew up watching Avatar are adults now anyways. A proper adaptation could be awesome.

>cast tibetans as whites
>cast japanese as indians
>cast inuits as whites
>cast chinese as chinese and white
What the actual FUCK did they mean by this?
>Be studio exec
>Whole job is to make money
>Dumbass summer intern says "Why don't we remake movies that lost money instead or remaking movies that are proven to make money?"
>Throw intern out window
>>87191027
they meant to make a fucking mess it would seem
AMIRITE

People might go see a a movie that was once good remade in the modern age and derive some pleasure from it.
Even if that were to solely be for nostalgia.
Why would anyone go see a bad movie; they'd have no faith whatsoever. And Studios/Industries would have none either.

It's called being progressive and colorblind. Only retarded fascists actually give a fuck who is cast as what.
>>87191402
But if they were as he said the whites would be the bad guys
riddle me this fucknut? how could a fascist get behinds this?

>Be intern
>Point out that there are several IPs with immensely successful television series that make millions in merchandising, yet have never had a successful or good film adaptation
>Suggest that there could be more money to be made there rather than milking a dead cow
>Get fired
>>87191571
you forgot
>watch as they remake Ben-Hur and wonder to themselves why it flopped
>>87190694
Because they're a known brand that is already popular with so it's extremely low risk financially
>>87191211
It makes more sense to remake popular but disappointing movies like Son of the Mask

I actually understand the decision of Shyamalan for doing this, its wasn't a production call but rather an artistic one, the real sin is that the film sucked
