Why do they use white concrete sculptures for the intros so often? Any thoughts?
huh?

Black Sails did it first though, it looked great with the music.

Gives a history vibe, reminiscent of the marble used in Ancient Greece or Rome.
If feels more "artistic" than if it were just stills of the actual characters.
They are often shown in poses that represent them the most too, like an archetype presentation.
It's too 'epic'. The story is mostly down to earth about some randos trying to survive in a fucked up fantasy world. Marble statues represent some kind of popular heroes and while they all eventually become characters in Dandelion's poetry and therefore popular, Geralt, Yennefer, Ciri et consortes are pretty much outcasts. Also the world is colorful, Slavic and dirty. It really doesn't accomplish anything other then looking cool.
They ought to use a typical for Slav lands paper cut out technique. I don't have a proper animation example on youtube except for this:

Imagine pic rel in motion.

black sails has one of the best intros

>old ciri
A combination of wanting to use photogrammetry and being too lazy/inept with animating. Also following trends and lack of originality.

I noticed this too. Black Sails seemed to have a really original opening and it was one of the few in recent years I never really skipped. Just very aesthetically pleasing. By the fourth or fifth different show doing the same opening it became pretty pathetic.

I'd say Daredevil intro is somewhat similar but a bit different
>>87185655
Agreed. The intro was the only good thing about that show.
