have you see how difficult it is to get to eastwatch. it's a thin as fuck trail alone the ice wall where eastwatch sits on a piece of rock that pokes out of the wall.

they would have to be extremely careful to not fall into the ocean, move at a slower rate to ensure they don't slip and fall and making them an easy spottable target the crows could just eliminate with arrows. are you retarded? go and look at eastwatch in the show.

at least with running against castle black you can spread out and run at full speed rather then have to go across a thin, slippery crevice.

east watch was always manned. even in the first few episodes when jon arrives aemon is sending people to east watch.
