Why didn't Littlefinger implicate Sansa into the murder of Lysa?
Why didn't Royce question why Sansa had lied about Lysa's death in the Eyrie?
Why did the tribunal accept the letter that Lysa sent to Catelyn (which was burned), Bran witnessing LF threatening Ned (he wasn't in the KL at the time so no one can confirm this happened), and that LF is the owner of the dagger if the only people who could confirm it are dead (like Catelyn)?

The characterisation of both Arya and Bran has been baffling this whole season desu and made this whole plot line make no sense. One minute Arya's fine with everyone and the next she's a psycho threatening to take Sansa's face. One minute Bran's a distant autist who seems to know little fingers evil but is too detached from reality/focused on being the 3 eye'd raven to care. Few episodes later though he seems to be relatively normal and is for some reason only now finally calling out littler finger on his bs. I assume they were trying to make it seem like Arya 'out-schemed' littlefinger and got Sansa to see him for what he was but they executed it so poorly. Disappointing as one of the shows more interesting characters he deserved a better death.

There was some minor damage sustained in season 4, but the show was still salvageable.

Season 5 poured gasoline on any integrity the show had and lit it on fire. Dorne was the biggest, steamiest piece of shit ever to see the light of day on the show. The Bolton plotline was dumb and the character of Stannis was ruined because dipshit and dumbfuck don't know how to write characters and never seemed to like stannis from the beginning.

I miss the early seasons too :(

Okay, but why is he even in Winterfell to begin with? We've already established that this season was at least 2 years long based on various character's travels. So LF was just lurking behind the walls of Winterfell for two years? Because he wants to manipulate Sansa? But she's young and he has plenty of time for that.

This doesn't even address why Arya and Bran are in Winterfell just hanging out for a couple of years. Arya is supposed to be FM and be no one, and Bran flat out says that he's not Bran anymore and that he barely remembers Bran's memories. So why do they both still have a connection to Winterfell and consider it home?

i'm okay with sansa killing LF, in fact it's probably going to happen in the books ("a maiden slaying a giant in a castle of snow"), but the way it was done was nonsensical.

And the point of Game of Thrones isn't that characters just bite it randomly. That would be dumb, and would make pretty much every character trivial. It's the pretense that anyone can die, but character's don't just die without narrative purpose. Robb and Ned's deaths were the very clear end to their arcs, and there were multiple hints leading up to it.

Littlefinger seems entirely pointless, and none of his schemes for the past few seasons make any sort of sense.

Southern trials. The North has its own way, and he'd been declared a traitor to basically every power that could protect him. He even tried to get the knights of the Vale to help him out and they were more than happy enough to shrug him away.

He's a shit fighter, they have several eye witnesses and when repeatedly asked for his defense, he obfuscated and tried to redirect. So he had no chance of winning trial by combat, or choosing a proxy, and he was already giving up on winning an argument on the charges. He was in the opposite position Ned was, he's a silver tongued snake in the North where they typically don't play politics for personal gain.

Slitting his throat was maybe over the line, that's just how it is. The Starks declared his crimes worthy of death, and the Starks executed the sentence.

Yes because those have been established elements with lore and plenty of warning. Most people knew to expect dragons. Having some sudden 11th hour shift to democracy would just make it look like a "yeehaw! good old murican freedom!" asspull meme.
