Jesus Christ? Is this why it's called the "baby" driver?

There are multiple cars being driven in the film, automatic and manual ones.
But don't even bother watching it, it's a pretty badly overwritten cliche filled generic mess that goes on for 30 minutes too long.
Still baffled by the critical praise.

>Americans thinking they're hot shit when they can shift
protip: everybody can shift
all you have to do is do it for like a few hours
>wow i have droven shift for a few hours and not I can manually shift with a clutch how amazing am I?
yeah wow nice job man! really im so impressed. I bet everybody thinks you're a professional racecar driver because you can manually do something a computer will do for you if you have the money for the extra luxery
really man how amazing! you shift manually.. C-can I touch you? If only i could do this. Oh wait I can, because in my country everybody needs to earn their drivers license in a manual shifted car otherwise you have to have a special note you can only drive automatics. But still, man OP really seperates himself from baby's because he is able to do this very basic thing literally anybody can do.
How amazing.
Can I hear it for OP guys??
Driving a manual shifted car in 2017 is for fucking poorfags or tryhards.

I agree, except for the last part.
>>87093175
Not really. I'm a professional driver and I can tell you there is nothing worse than having to manually shift and clutch for a few hours when you do it alot.
Sure it can be fun if you have a fast car and are on an empty road. But for everyday use it's fucking retarded and obsolete
>>87089698
Unless you're driving a classic there's no reason to really use a stick shift anymore. Modern automatics are faster and more efficient in every way. Europoors still drive stick exclusively because they're literally too poor.
I'll admit driving stick on a classic does feel amazing and I love it, but screeching about auto vs. manual is just a retarded meme at this point. If you purposely try to find a stick these days on an old shitbox you're shitting on yourself. Paddle shifters are fun.

/o/'s shitty manual transmission threads might be the only thing more lame than /k/'s obsession with trigger discipline.

manually shifting is still ok (yes you can have a manual shifting on an automatic) but manual clutching is retarded
a computer will always be faster and better at this
The only thing a computer isn't better at is knowing which gear to be in because a computer can't see the corner you're trying to make
but they clutch always exactly right at exactly the right torgue. Much better any human can ever do. It's just faster and more efficient
