Rogue one was fuckin great though and really ties in nicely with every other one of the films without obstructing and sort of explains away shit that people have joked about for a while.
It did away with mystery and provided answers so that's why that one did so well, but then again you need to understand that Harrison Ford didn't even want to do another Star Wars film and it sort of seemed political and like people working on the film were catching shit for making it and being put under pressure so that could have had a bit to do with the finished product. Rogue One didn't seem anywhere near as strained and the characters all seemed to have their place and time and parts carefully woven.

As movies and tv shows, Star War has much to offer and way more than Disney could ever make it work.

One of the huge problems facing Star Wars is forcing everything into a linear canon universe revolving Luke, the OT and after the OT. All new content must now be connected in some way to the main storyline of the OT and ST. Now its hard to make original stories so they wont contradict the new canon.

Unlike the old EU, Disney Wars cant expand beyond the OT and ST timelline and limits themselves to a period that has already been focused on heavily.

The final space fight and the darth vader scenes are good as individual little sequences, but they have no greater context within the movie.

Same with TFA. There's almost nothing in the movie that is exclusive to the movie.

The difference between the Lucas prequels and Disney's movies is that Lucas's prequels could be considered a full story on their own.

It's not a good finished product, but the concept of a protagonist becoming the antagonist at the end of the series is interesting, and is very different from the Luke plot.

All the new disney characters (and dave filoni's shit) are just mary sues for the sake of pushing an agenda.

I CANT WAIT for this movie to bomb, and for everyone to comment on how good Mark Hamill is compared to everyone else.
