Are there any other companies doing what Criterion does? I vaguely recall a german or maybe dutch company doing a similar kind of thing but i cant remember the name, just that i saw it discussed on this board
Arrow or Shout?
I'd also say Kinowelt but they deal in a wide range of movies, not just cult or artsy fartsy like Criterion does most of the time

Aren't they UK only, or am I misremembering?
Kino sometimes puts out a decent product, but their stuff is much lower-budget (don't expect ultra-nice restorations - they occasionally get good stuff).
Twilight Time does limited runs of lots of cult movies and usually goes through the effort of making it a nice package. They had blu-rays of Zardoz, Moby Dick, The Mechanic, and other movies ranging from interesting (Zulu) to schlocky (Shakma???).
Scream/Shout Factory are pretty good with cult and horror movies. At least they get the important thing down, which is proper aspect ratios. Releases that are notable include a "restored" Exorcist 3 with lost footage added in, or stuff like proper releases of Death Wish 2 or Life Force. Stuff seems like it is released with a lot of love.
