I never want this series to end but I guess it has to. All I can say is I'm so glad we got this. I didn't even think we would ever get another movie from Lynch. Instead we got an 18 hour masterpiece. We got to enjoy this together for the entire summer. What a wonderful ride.

To be fair he's been gone for 25 years, his life as he knows it is essentially gone. As Dougie he had a great house, job with a boss who loved him, Mitchum bros as his BFFs, a loving wife and kid (which Coop talked about wanting even in the original series), and an all around great life. I could see him being happy with that after his mission in Twin Peaks is done.
