Are you asking for realistic characters, or do you think any movie with the characters not using meta horror movie knowledge is bad?

I mean they did a little, but in the general way they handled the situation they were pretty rational, better even than the average viewer would be at thinking up ad hoc solutions because of course it's a pre written script where the writers had already thought of what the characters would do
