i disagree. The effects should be on Interstellar-level for it to be enjoyable/believable enough if you make it about the exploration.

Obviously that isnt possible/not financially viable since no show has done that yet.

interstellar used a lot of practical effects. the fountain also portrayed space in an awe inspiring way using zoomed in shots of microorganisms. It's possible to make a good exploratory space show, but producers are convinced you need a spectacle when in space.
