Why was season 3 so fucking bad compared to the previous 2?
Nothing made sense and the amount of plot holes was just stupid.

My guess is they really didn't know where they'd take it past them being on the run. Honestly, the plot would've been a lot more fun if the D.B Cooper thing was dragged out.
They already broke from the prison
because americans are fucking retarded
they only care about money. it is not an artform to them
they measure eachothers success in how much money the show made. viewers are irrelevant, awards are irrelevant. they only care about the sub total deposited income
so when a tv show, which had a weak premise to begin with, mysteriously becomes really successful because for some reason being in prison is part of american culture, since pretty much every black person and non sheeple american has been in jail since not asking "how high" when the cops say jump is illegal, they didnt really plan for a 2nd season, or a 3rd season. in fact they dont really plan at all, they get renewed or cancelled based on the analyst teams that work for the marketers that indirectly sponsor these shows, and then the writers have say "how high sir may i kiss your boots sir" when their masterpiece that was intended for 1 season gets renewed

Why do people dislike season 3? Yes, it's absolutely ridiculous, but it was exciting and at least it was a fucking prison break. Season 4 is where it really gets bad and especially in the second half.

Season one is passable. The rest is garbage.
Show jumped the shark halfway through the first season. They broke out of prison, but then they sent them back because they decided to add 8 more episodes to the season because it was so popular, so just made shit up as they went along.

Did you even watch the show? They didn't break out until the second to last episode of the season.
The first season of Prison Break is still the best season of any tv series. A pretty much perfect run with absolutely no filler.
Because what they do after the break out is mostly irrelevant. Shashank Redemtion knew this. Tim Robbins breaks out of prison. You see him do something at the bank. Then you see him next as a man in the free and clear. As Morgan freeman has finally got out of prison and joined Tim Robbins.
the show should have ended when the brothers got out of prison. Wrapping everything up with a short epilogue. Where you see the brothers getting the cash and safe in new lives. While all the criminals go to a fake treasure and get busted by the police immediately. Because the brother had planned ahead on double crossing any inmates he needed to use to escape.
then you don't do anything else. the show is over.

They broke out then broke back in.

I believe at the time there was a writers strike, and some of the writers that worked on Prison Break were involved so it messed it all up
In pre-production, the show was planned to be a mini-series. Spielberg was attached to the project at one point, and it was set to follow a band of brothers-esque production.
They only ditched the original concept because of 24's success, and decided to go full blown TV series in an attempt to get dat money.
S2 lacked direction, but Mahone was fantastic and the cops and robbers theme was pretty simple. 8 crooks, $5mil, one bad ass FBI agent. After that, shit fell into free-for-all. The company etc. just got insane.
I always wish we got the original kino prison break mini-series. Would have been some of the best TV of all time.
