One of t he larger problems with The Return is an overabundance of under-developed characters. A lot of cardboard-cutouts and one-and-dones.

Even the "main" characters like Janey-E or (arguably) Tammy or Diane have too little material to make us know about them as characters other than the broadest strokes.

I am enjoying Season 3 but it isn't perfect.

the irony will be that all that much-needed character development will be found in Frost's Dossier book. When it would have been better-served with pieces used in the show filtered through Lynch's visual style.

It's gotten to the point where I can no longer see how all of these disparate subplots can be wrapped up in a satisfying way. Talk about blowing your load on excess. Love ya Lynch, and the show, but sometimes more is more.

This series started great and has got progressively worse IMO. Lynch has tried to implement too many stories, none of which are all that interesting. We care about Cooper and the original residents of Twin Peaks, not hitman midgets or casino gangsters.

Yeah. Only a few of the new characters have really stood out. Some like new Sheriff Truman and Richard Horne are pretty interesting, but I couldn't care less about others Tammy, Jane, Diane, Chantal and her husband. The side characters, like the Mitchum Brothers, are fine, but a lot of the newer ones don't garner a lot of care or interest.
