rhaegal and viserion probably would've divebombed him and either killed a bunch of his generals or a large portion of his army

killing the dragon who is acting as a bus would've been dumb because it would've kept two other dragons airborne

Probably because Viserion was on a path towards him, and while the Night King definitely can't be killed by dragonfire, his lieutenants probably can.
