Mgs always had incredible sound direction, but you're right the culmination of the new and old in that theme was marvelous, even though brass was quite trite as viewed from the perspective of when the game supposedly took place.
If mgs3 was a movie, when would you rather have the theme play- before or after the movie?

Didn't MGS3 have its own bond-esque opening? Probably should have something like in the beginning. Personally though I would watch an actor climb a very tall ladder with the theme playing and enjoy it
