Is the first season of Westworld one of television's

they tried to spread 4 episodes of plotlines into a full season, if they actually followed through on the premises they set up instead of trying to slow reveal everything it would be a great series, but they literally did not follow through at all.

its one of those series that will build up suspense just for the sake of suspense so they could string you along for an entire season.

lazy as fuck. do the work. i hate what they did. suckered me in with 3 good episodes and got no payoff. ugh hate those westworld faggots.

I'm glad I watched Westworld but I admittedly have a huge bias for anything Western themed. I hesitate to say that it's one of the greatest achievements on HBO because I could spoil things about shows like The Sopranos and The Wire for you and it wouldn't take away from those shows. Westworld on the other hand is a show that imo lives and dies on its big twist. I feel like most of the characters and subplots just aren't compelling or meaningful enough on their own to justify watching the show if the big twist's been ruined for you. It's definitely better than post-season 5 Game of Thrones, that's for sure. I'm interested in watching season 2 if only to see how the show actually works now that season one and its one-trick twist are out of the way. Thrones was kind of similar in that it wasn't until Ned's death at the end of season one that the rules of the world were firmly established and the actual show began. I'm glad they said McPoyle would be returning since he was my favorite character, but I really hope they can make the other characters actually worth watching. Maeve and her lab cronies were some of the worst fucking HBO characters in a long time, almost as bad as Sansa and Daenerys.

It's shit. The highlight by far was the scene with Hopkins and the robot shutting down before it could attack him. that was episode 1 (?).
