What are your thoughts on "The Strain" ?

Anyone watched it? Is it good? Is it a fun time waste at least?

I've recently watched the first few episodes and was quite intrigued by the very early plot. It looked liked some Nazi experiment gone wrong or something but then it turns out it's more or less vampires.
It was never supposed to be more than light casual TV fun but when they showed the Master's face during the Labour Camp flashbacks I just couldn't help myself anymore and burst out laughing.
Haven't been able to watch since then. Maybe I'll continue but seeing how this has quite a few seasons to it, maybe I'm not ready for that time commitment

I don't understand how it's survived 3 seasons even though it averages one decent episode per season.
