It's not even a background deal. Billy was a ref at Twin Galaxies, wouldn't accept Steve's score because Steve was using a board he got from Mr. Awesome, who didn't like Billy. They couldn't find anything wrong with the machine when they examined it, but Brian Kuh is a slimy little nerd who couldn't let his hero lose.
