Sam unfortunately does not other than the outside-the-show fact that the actor doesn't care about losing weight and therefore neither will his character. I have no doubts the writers had ideas about Sam losing weight and maybe even developing into a more physically capable character as the story went on, but couldn't because the actor stayed fat and they can't force him to lose weight.

Every other time is just "scene with x in y location" to "scene with x in z location" with no sense of how long it took for them to get there.

As a screenwriter or filmmaker in general, if you want to show time has passed, you actually need to convey it. Character appearances and the sets can change, or an offhand comment about how long it's taking.

Unfortunately the more drastic teleportation complaints came in when characters DID establish an amount of time. Specifically during a span of two weeks. Yes, two weeks, as Cersei actually established, was all the time needed for multiple armies and characters to travel the breadth of the continent and back several times.
