I like The Neon Demon but I can't hold not liking it against anybody because it was so damn weird and indulgent. Keanu Reeves as a skeezy asshole was awesome, I love that guy.

Main thing that sticks in my mind about this movie is that the first time I watched it my dog got confused as fuck by the soundtrack and all the flashing lights and colours and kept walking around and tilting her head looking at the tv to try and work out what the hell was going on.

Yeah Keanu sold it well, his character is pretty scummy but so believably scummy. And as a whole it's definitely indulgent, but Refn is good enough that it's so gorgeous that I don't care.

Not OP but same, I stopped coming here on a daily basis when BLACKED dominated the board.

I don't think I will ever stay on /tv/ as one of my main boards ever again. I'm often too scared to stay in this board for long.

Neon Demon is Refn's Eyes Wide Shut. It's a manifesto and a warning about what goes on in Hollywood. There's a reason that Refn chose such a nubile, virginal actress to play the main part.
