So I was rewatching the LotR trilogy and something about this scene bugged me. After the orc boss kills the hungry minion he says
>Looks like meat's back on the menu boys!
How exactly does an orc know what a menu is? did they have restaurants in mordor?

Wow it's another movie-onlyfag. If you read the books, you would know a bit about traditional "orcish" cuisine culture.

to a degree yes, they actually do. They certainly have something equivalent to a "tavern"
read the books
Of course without a dark lord whipping them into ,an army they have their on kingdoms. So one can assume they have culture, shops and laws.
1. They may not be familiar with restaurants, but I would imagine they have mess halls.
2. He's making a morbid pun in orcish that is being translated to english in a way that isn't 100% literal, but preserves the humor.

They might be cross breeds between men and orc.

It's translated from Westron into English, with the orcs speaking Westron as a second language. Orcish has a word roughly equivalent to "a list of food" or "foods that are available", and the English translation used the word menu to represent that.
