>"only non-capeshit schlock i've seen in my life"
Imagine how Ben must feel, knowing that he'll measure up to his more talented brother.
>>86552625
One of the most slow-paced films I've ever seen, and one that gripped me every second. It also gave me a new appreciation of Brad Pitt as an actor.
ERRNN BOY I CAN HEAR YER GEARS GRINDIN' NININININ

>knowing that he'll measure up
I forget to type never.

Your vagina has no power here, little girl.
>>86555662
Wanna know how that feels? Unpleasant. I honestly can't recommend it.
>>86552625
what is the film about though, the title isn't exactly very clear

>he thinks women dont enjoy Hollywood schlock like Jesse james
Cute
"My love said she would marry only me, and Jove himself could not make her care, for what women say to lovers, you'll agree, one writes on running water, or on air."
>"Well, I gotta find... here. 'Jesse James, the youngest, has a face as smooth and innocent as a schoolgirl. The blue eyes, very clear and penetrating, are never at rest. His form is tall and graceful and capable of great endurance and great effort. Jesse is lighthearted, reckless, and devil-may-care. There is always a smile on his lips-"
Lacks real depth and characters and feels like an imitation of something deep. Incoherent where scenes seem strung onto each other rather than part of something larger - episodic. Nicely shot, though, and the score is beautiful, even if it is put to waste. Individual moments show masterful filmmaking but there's only so much of the same that one can take. Also it's bloated and overlong.
This is from someone who saw it a couple of years ago, loved it, considered it one of the best films of this millennium, but rewatched it a couple of weeks ago and was disappointed.

I think it's fair to assume that most patricians here agree that it's a modern day masterpiece. However, despite the fact that it's an essential /tv/-viewing, exactly how reddit is it? I personally think it's fairly low on the reddit-meter. What are your thoughts?
>>86560435
nah, it lost out to the real reddit film of 2007, There will be blood
>>86552625
>once a week this thread pops up
>brad 'I'M ACTING' pitt
>>86558174
Correct, it's a film which is less than the sum of its parts. GOAT score, amazing visually and a phenomenal performance from Ben doesn't enhance a bloated and unfocused story, which is clear thematically.
Good movie, but not great.
>>86560630
Yeah, out of the three notorious, great pieces of cinema that year, There Will Be Blood, No Country For Old Men, and The Assassination Of Jesse James, the latter is by far the least reddit, and the two former ones aren't really reddit in the first place.
>>86558174
>Lacks real depth and characters
are you fucking serious, Bob Ford isnt a real character?
post something you think is good so i can make fun of it
>>86555551
Not even considering Manchester By The Sea.
The only reason it was really great instead of just good was the setting I think
>>86560630
>implying There Will Be Blood isn't better
