>flying directly to Mt.Doom wouldn't work because they'd get spotted rather quickly
>somehow Frodo manages to evade the nazgul throughout the entire adventure despite them being on his heels from the get-go
are we supposed to be believe that he'd be INSTANTLY shot down the moment he got on a gryphon?
Who are you quoting
>>86539522
YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO "TURN YOUR BRAIN OFF".
Why didn't Sauron understand that economic warfare was the better way to conquer? Other countries would not be able to handle globalization with how Sauron could underpay his orcs.
>>86539522
why there's was nobody watching the lava pitt?? i mean if the one ring can only be destroyed droping him in that specific place
why don't you put at least 2 fucking trolls?
>>86539535
>who are you quoting
>>86539578
>the ramp leading up to Mount Doom is completely exposed and barren
>not a single thing defending the entrance or keeping watch
>>86539578
Because Sauron literally couldn't comprehend someone wanting to destroy the ring.
>>86539578
Put a fence up or something
>>86539649
block the fucking entrace with giant rocks
Why didn't Sauron just get the orcs to divert a river into the pit of magma to turn it into stone?
>>86539642
that's just a weak excuse for a plot hole
>>86539522
Your two quotes only prove you wrong, retard.
>>86539642
>one of the most powerful artifacts ever created in Middle-earth
>not securing the one and only place where it could be destroyed
>>86539699
It's not a plot hole because it's directly addressed.
>>86539699
Not really. All through the history of the ring people have wanted it. Every idea of destroying it left the minds of those who got it, as it took hold of them fast. The hobbits were something he hadn't prepared for though, as from some reason they were not as easy to corrupt.
So no, Sauron didn't have any reason to believe that anyone would succeed in destroying the ring.
>>86539748
Why would anyone want to destroy something that powerful when they could use it for themselves? Frodo and Tom Bombadil are the only beings that wouldn't keep it
>>86539848
Not even all hobbits. Smeagol was a hobbit and he became obsessed with keeping it
>>86539522
The eagles wouldn't fly them because they were too proud to be let anyone ride them. They also didn't really care because Sauron wouldn't really effect them. They only saved them that one time because they owed Gandalf. Even then they make a big deal if it.
>>86539970
As did Bilbo and Frodo at the end. So not even they were uncorruptable, but it was a slower process in them.
>>86539953
But Frodo would
>>86539522
IIRC the original plan was to ride the birdies but Saruman *blocks ur path*'d and then Moria happened.
Dumbledore did say "fly, you fools"
>>86539613
>exhaust port leading to reactor core is totally undefended
>>86539970
He wasn't quite a hobbit, only a similar race
The "not defending the entrance to Mount Doom" is more of a pleb question than the Eagles question.
Isildur couldn't destroy it the same DAY he vanquished Sauron, where theoretically Sauron would be at his weakest. Why would he even fathom the idea that anyone else would be able to do that as his powers had continued to grow since.
>>86540277
Would you watch an HBO drama set at the end of LOTR where the hobbits return and have to retake the shire?
>>86542874
>trusting jews with the last great white franchise to be produced before the cancer of current year
they'd be literally, figuratively, and metaphorically salivating to ruin what we hold dear
the ring would probably corrupt the eagles desu senpai
>>86542988
eagles don't have ring fingers
>>86542781
>there is no trench run
The fucking defenses were so heavy that the tight trench corridor full of death and Darth Vader was the better option
>>86539699
But Frodo literally couldn't destroy the ring in the end. At the place of its making the ring is at its most powerful and no mortal can willingly destroy it, it's literally impossible. The ring was only destroyed due to pure luck/divine intervention and so Sauron had a pretty good reason for thinking the way he did.
>>86543011
Why didn't Frodo just cut off his fingers then?
>>86543129
Not only that, anyone who attempted to was just giving the ring a free taxi ride back to Sauron. LotR is pretty much bulletproof when it comes to plotholes.
>>86543077
the trench run is analagous to the walls/gates and armies of mordor
>>86539576
Sauron understood this quite well. He drove elves, High Men and dwarves down to dark age levels of tech with no population or economic growth and kept them there for thousands of years by dumping orcs on them the moment they started to rebuild. Elves? They blew up orcs like they weren't there and choked fucking balrogs to death. Numenoreans? Had an army that made Sauron gg the moment they landed, and a fleet that required divine intervention to stop them from invading the Undying Lands. Dwarves fucked dragons with their axes and armor. Now look at them all, being soloed by a thrice-depowered ladyboy whose greatest call to fame was being Melkor's secretary.

>>86543154
Gollum helped him with that

eagles are divine and forbidden from directly assisting man in achieving his destiny. they conveniently only show up after things are irreversibly set in motion and their actions become trivial.
