I think it's BBC mandated now. Don't get me wrong women like Cal Wilson and Sandy Toksvig (pre host) were funny as hell, but I guess men tend to have a different sense of humour than women in general

Funny thing is, if I were a female comedian I'm sure I'd feel patronised as fuck if I'm only there because they need a woman on the show to satisfy some arbitrary quota.
