I keep them on a shelf in the living room, but most of them are in boxes due to renovations. It's a modest collection, and I typically only buy films/shows I really enjoy. Right now I've got The Sopranos, The Wire, True Detective season one, and The Shield (DVD only for that one, but blu-ray when it's released hopefully this Christmas). I've got about thirty films to it so far with buying every so often. I'm not rich but I enjoy the hobby. Most of my free use cash goes to boardgames and vidya, of which I've got much more extensive collections.

I only buy movies I like. I find that Blueray is much higher quality than most rips. They shit down the audio, have shit encoding and at worse cut down the fps.

Some movies are just hard to find online in actual Blu-ray quality. Also physical copies have sentimental value for me.
