You sip with a straw. Unless you have beer, but not all theaters serve beer here. The most noise you'll ever hear is some idiot sloshing it with the ice inside the cup, or them continuing to sip their drink when there isn't any left, so it's just that terrible slurpy noise. Thankfully, it just doesn't happen that much. But yeah, that's why we have the holders -- they're for your drinks.

You think that's weird for us Amerifats, I've literally been to a theater where they serve Whitecastles along with popcorn and soda. I doubt there're many Whitecastles outside of America, but trust me when I say they are not what you want to eat when watching a movie.

Our theaters are weird compared to other countries. Some are good, some are not.

This one I can answer. A lot of the time, we don't. A lot of the time, we do. It really depends. It's not out of formality or anything. It's just people start clapping if they do or don't. In American theaters, we generally allow ourselves to have more fun with the cinematic experience. If something funny happens and enough people laugh, so will everyone else. If every is in a good mood and had fun watching the movie, they'll clap! It's a little like >>86420492 this is. We are more emotive and responsive to the movie being shown.
