It's not just about cersei. If they show it to her that means her lords and the chaincucks will also see it and can't deny the bigger danger, Jaime will want to go and the idea is that between jaime+the lords+people she will have to act...

It's shit writing and obvious fanservice, but by this point I'll take it. However illogical it all is, it's a really cool idea to take 7 of the most interesting and cool male characters and send them on a suicide mission.

My biggest problem with it is that it all hinges on Cersei seeing a White Walker and suddenly agreeing to hold a truce and fight them. It's just not in-character, especially now. I could see them bringing in a dozen White Walkers and she'd still wave the problem away and continue her doomed war.

It all just seems a bit rushed as hell. Months of travelling goes on off-screen and every new scene is like two months further in time. I didn't think they could wrap everything up in 13 episodes but the way they're going I could easily see it happen, just executed poorly and rushed.
