Rick & Morty is a gateway show of the worst kind. It's a bad series, a clusterfuck of story and characterization that isn't very well done by any aspect, but which attempts to compensate for its weaknesses by adding in excessive pop culture references and Juvenile NIHILISTIC faggotry. The normal anon can see this as the shit it is, and may enjoy it, hate it or be indifferent to it, but all the while recognizing that the series itself, regardless of their opinion, is plain bad.
However, these very aspects that try to smear over the shit of its core make it a breeding ground for aspie, unsociable underageb& faggots who engage in every kind of faggotry both online and in the real world. The boring, uninspired characters all trying their hardest to be 'wacky', the corporate complicity, the soulless deploy of science fiction tropes, the whole hollywood stereotypical 'geek' humour and everything about the Rick & Morty world fuels their pseudo-intellectual fantasies of pretending to be 'smart' or 'intelligent', while the pity-party character backgrounds, emphasis on uncalled-for violence, and overall nihilistic preachiness of the series make it fit just right with the average preteen's 'existential crisis' and his sense of gratuitous indifference towards the world. Exactly the kind of shit that makes little kiddies and underage reddit retards eat this shit right the fuck up.
Rick & Morty is basically THE series to attract the most hated television fanbase known to /tv/, which is why, regardless of individual opinions, it is the responsibility of every anon to troll the fuck out of this show and everyone who likes it, and ensure that no Rick & Morty threads ever encourage the reddit newfriends to show their faces here.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existential catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them.
