I'm in the mood for a scare, let's have a thread about horror kino.

Jacob's Ladder isn't horror, but it's fucking great.
Horror is just trash.
If you like Jacob's Ladder, you'll probably also like
>The Witch
>The Excorcist III
>Solaris
>Moon
>Donnie Darko

just watched Cure (1997) recently, i have heard that pulse is also horror """"kino""""
What an excellent day for an exorcism

Oh, and
>Mulholland Drive
>A Clockwork Orange
>eXistenZ (a bit more simple, but kind of fun)
>>86227364
>existenz
Fuck dude totally forgot about that absolute kino
Used to be on HBO or showtime or something, would've never remembered it were it not for your post

>>86227233
I'll check them out, thanks.
Why do people pretend existenz was good?
>>86227364
A Clockwork Orange was pretty underwhelming honestly. It wasn't brilliant or clever, just really disgusting.
>>86227432
No problem!
I envy you if you haven't seen them yet.
Grave Encounters 1 and 2 were scary as fuck. VHS 1 and 2 are great but I didn't care much for the third one.

The writer of the book it's based on actually hated how much the film adaptation played up the violence. The book ends with Alex all grown up and looking back on how stupid he was in his younger days. If I remember it right the writer actually got the movie banned from being screened in England due to it disgusting him so much.
Take Shelter
The Grudge
Candyman
Oculus
The House of the Devil
I don't watch horror with jumpscares so this is my top 5: the shining, possession, halloween 1978, texas chainsaw massacre 1974, rosemary's baby
>>86227667
>disgusting
It's a political message, m8
The book has an entirely different message, though.
>>86227465
Excellent props and unique visual design.
It's not a good story, but it is enjoyable for how otherworldly the shit is.
